Ok I know thumbelina isn't a Disney movie but juaqimo the sparrow is a great mentor. Best wing man and friend a girl, could ask for by encouraging her to not care what people think - she's beautiful, intelligenct, strong & kind. Bo one can take that away and would be a fool to throw a girl like her away. You love the beetle? Then never mind the beetle! Good riddance to the bettle! And good riddance to the toad! Dose cornealious think you're ugly?

9 &7: I don't really see these guys as mentors; They never teach the heroes or any body anything or offer guidance. Cinderella knew the lesson herself and the fairies were heroes, not mentors. I would have placed Shang and Mama Ode in their spots. I agree with Jiminy Cricket being #1 though.

Ok love the list though I'd like to add something to Grandmother Willow - she's taught John Smith a thing about doing the right things not always the easy. It's through her teaching that both sides confront the problems and do what they can to set things right.

Jiminy Cricket definitely deserved #1, hands down. Great choice.
However, you missed a big one: Genie from Aladdin. Not only is he wise but he is one of the most memorable animated Disney characters due to Robin Williams' talent.
