Economy-wise, I must go with 2018. The Great Recession started in 2008.
Politics-wise, I must go with 2008. Obama was elected in 2008. We had Trump in 2018.
Movie-wise, I have to give kudos to 2018 because of Black Panther and Infinity War.
TV-wise, 2018. We have so many more options for high-end, cinematic shows now.

2008 was a better year for music and TV shows Breaking Bad and Lost were on, but it was a horrible year for the economy and we had the worst president in 2008. Movies was hit and miss, too many sequels and not so many good movies in 2008, but 2018 was also sequels and remakes. So Im going to say 2008 was better mainly for pop culture.

2008 no doubt about it. You forgot that fashion was way better than today's kardashian look where everybody looks the same. Music from today is a joke and in cinema we ONLY have super heroes, back then we had comedies, romance, drama and even other genres. I miss 2008 even though I liked my 2018 as a whole

2008. The O. C. and Gossip Girl was on TV. Miley was Hannah Montana. Taylor Swift was still doing country music. Cartoon Network was still good. The first Iron Man movie came out around that time. High School Musical 2 came out and we all tuned in to watch. I was 8 and hating 2nd Grade.

2008 was a whole lot better: Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell and Aretha Franklin was still alive along with Vinnie Paul, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. Plus school shootings weren't happening every few seconds and nobody was calling the cops on black people over dumb stuff

Honesty 2008 is way better my whole playlist is mostly 2008 music and the tv and movies where pretty good and people were less likely to get offended by the smallest things 2018 you look at some one the wrong way and it turns in to a giant fight cuz they get butt hurt

Lets not forget Gossip Girl was at its prime in 2008 yes the ending sucked unpopular opinion Dair is my endgame but yes 2008 Gossip Girl was the best and it paved the way for a lot of teen shows after them like PLL

2018 tech is a lot better. However my depression wasn't so severe in 2008. while I did still have anxiety and depression it wasn't nearly as bad. I was a lot happier.
