Tangled, one of the most apologetically sincere and lighthearted IPs of Disney's 21st century creations, ended up with multiple dark & dense episodes in it's tv series. It generally has the Tangled characters and series-original characters with the trademark IP fun & sass. But when the dark episodes hit, they make a impact.
The show actually had a really cool overarching plot & deep lore (not to mention, a healthy amount of knock-out musical numbers usually only seen in Disney theatrical releases w/ Broadway singers; one won an Emmy. I was just NOT prepared for the handful of dark episodes in that series. It's like the Puppetmaster episode from ATLA whenever I came across them; unexpected but it still worked within the context of the show's plots.
Things like Goth-Rapunzel with Coraline eyes singing the anti-thesis to the Healing Incantation, a man-eating plant that looks like a cousin to the Stranger Things monsters, or a character getting encased in stone (Han Solo-style) in the presence of a loved one. they definitely sound like the opposite to the kind of content that should be canon in the TANGLED universe. But they still worked for me, and I enjoyed them thoroughly!

8: 30-8: 38 Same, looking back, I really appreciate Disney doing this. & I think it's fitting that the top 4 include: That's So Raven, Suite Life, Girl Meets World & Recess. Each series could get pretty dark & mature, challenging what kids could handle & giving us valuable life lessons. Like you said in the end, Raven had other tough moments but she made it thru. You could say that about the characters in the shows, one reason why theyre all classics!
