My favourite proposal scene is probably the one from Runaway Bride when Maggie proposes to Ike not just once but twice at the end of the movie. It is truly an empowering proposal for she has finally learned not just that she wants to be married or who the right guy is and that he understands who she really is, but she finally understands who she is and is able to come to him knowing that their relationship is truly two people who know and understand each other as they really are and are choosing to spend their lives together. Not only that, but the final proposal is probably the most honest and realistic proposal that cinema has shown, and for that reason and because they are both saying yes with their eyes fully open, their marriage, and not just their wedding, is much more likely to be happy one but a lasting one.

I can't believe I'm such an idiot. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite novels and favorite films and I only JUST (because of this video) realized that in this film at least, he walks all the way to her house to propose. Why didn't he take a carriage or go on horseback? It's quicker. It's because, as Darcy knows, Elizabeth is very fond of walking. If he's gonna propose to the woman he loves, he's going to go about doing it in a way that exemplifies HER.
The proposal is different in the novel, but I appreciate this narrative callback in the 2005 film.

There's a fantastic sequel to Gone with the Wind called Scarlet it's done like in the 80s so or maybe early 90s so it's long after the actors couldn't do it but it is so good. They don't exactly end like the bookends but it hadn't so well it's just I love it so much. If You Love Gone With the Wind see it. It's like a series instead of like a movie but it's fantastic and my personal opinion although I'm biased because they do have a real hard soft spot for the original Jane Eyre series after which was Timothy Dalton. And he plays an amazing Rhett Butler.

The explanation in love of Matthew Macfadyen in Pride and Prejudice is a real volcano of tenderness and adoration for the beloved girl. This shot of the rising sun between the faces of the two lovers is unsurpassed in cinematography.
Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen captivate with their explosive chemistry and leave an unforgettable memory in everyone.
Both are actors who seem to descend from Olympus to bring peace to the world. They cannot be compared to anyone!

Carry you around when your arthritis is bad. That's a keeper!
I have a string in my chest attached to your chest.
Ever After - Everything
Colin Firth can speak Italian or Portuguese to me anytime! - Love Actually
Step Mom is very creative!
Only Bridget Jones could put her foot in her mouth so badly and then clumsily remove it.
Forest Gump's proposal is simple and sweet.
Best line -You have bewitched me, body and soul.

The best version of the Jane Eyre proposal is in the film with William Hurt and Charlotte Gainsborough - their chemistry is fantastic whereas the version with Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska is non-existent. Same goes for the proposal in the BBC (I know it's TV and not a movie) of Pride and Prejudice rather than this version with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen who have absolutely no chemistry (plus the whole film is awful.

I have to say, Jamie's proposal in Love, Actually is probably my favorite of all of these. It's so sincere, but also pretty awkward, and yet it's also a grand gesture. After seeing their unexpected love bloom over the course of the movie, they are the couple I root for the most, and it's so rewarding to see them reunite and get engaged at the end.

Pride and Prejudice sealed the deal for me, for all time, it never fails to bring tears to my eyes! What woman wouldn't be impressed seeing a man walking out of the fog dressed in a white shirt, black pants, and a long swinging coat with the swagger of a true gentleman? I think I would have swooned first, then kissed him later, lol.

Pride and Prejudice is the most romantic movie of all times and the protagonists don't have a kissing scene in the whole movie (unless you watch the extended finale, is the most beautiful love story ever, I can watch it or read it a thounsand times and I would start reading it again the next week

Rhett Butler and Scarlett OHara Wilkinson-Mutton Chops (at that moment. cant remember the dead 2nd husband. The clip fails to include the hilarious conversation leading up to the proposal, or the fact that a Scarlett tied one on before Rhett showed up unannounced. Perfection.

Question. Does anyone know a movie where a man proposes, but he doesnt have a ring, he makes one out of a Twist-Tie from a loaf of bread and puts it on her finger. Im not sure if I have seen it, if I did I honestly dont remember the name.

A movie that Ive enjoyed lately is Ondine though theres not really a Proposal moment, its a touching show. The ordinary guy gets the somewhat mysterious girl, who may, or may not be, a mythical creature

I'm sorry, but even though it's not a movie, the 2006 miniseries version of Jane Eyre blows the 2011 version out of the water! There's not enough passion in the 2011 version.
