I think that you have two categories here. There are the shows that got cancelled and never got to find the closure, and the ones that did attempt a closure but it didn't go well. Shows like Reaper, My Name is Earl got cancelled between seasons and never got to find that closure. Pushing Daisies knew they were not getting another season and tried to find that closure. They did not do well. Another show that attempted to find closure is Quantum Leap. These shows knew they were ending and they tried to actually end the series by finding a closure that was horrible and (as you say) gave us ZERO closure. Then Reaper got cancelled and they never got to give us that ending. Like Manifest this year.

Did anyone else watch 'Ringer' with Sarah Michelle Gellar? I really enjoyed that show, but it ended so abruptly and we never got to see the two sisters face-off, or anything else resolved! Flash Forward had a strange, fantastic premise and a likeable, talented cast, but the writing got so bad, no wonder its ratings dropped. By the time the pace finally picked-up, it was far too late. And I'm probably the only person in the universe who remembers Emily Owens, M. D. I loved that show during its brief run, but I think I was it's sole viewer. It abruptly ended half-way through the season with Emily making a very wrong (yet understandable) choice, and she never gets a chance to fix it!

My pick is Star-crossed (CW 2011) and more recently, Manifest (NBC 2019-2021. Both were super great shows, with KILLER cliffhangers and absolutely no closure for fans! It's SO FRUSTRATING. Nothing like having your favorite shows canceled, and then getting no answers about what would have happened with the story arcs had they continued. Creators of canceled TV shows should seriously, at least share online/ social media, their intentions of how the show's storylines would have ended. Loyal fans who were dedicated and tried to keep the canceled show(s) alive deserve that much. So disrepectful!

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles ended in a terrible cliffhanger, Derek Reece was dead, Cameron was badly damaged and put her chip into John Henry, and then jumped to the future, and then John freaking Connor also jumped to the future with a T-1001 that joined the resistance, leaving his mother behind in the past. There John met the now alive Derek, Allison (the girl that was killed and replaced by Cameron before she was reprogrammed) and the biggest say what? no one in the future had ever heard of John Connor!
Fox left us with no answers, again!

I watched Pushing Daises on Netflix and it had a finale show, albeit seemed like an afterthought. I cant remember the exact details but the detective found his daughter, they revealed to the aunts that the main character was alive and Kristin Chenowiths character ended up opening her own shop and she and David Arquettes character ended up together. The only loose end I cant remember whether or not they tied up is who killed the girl in the first place.

To be more specific, the end of My Name is Earl wouldve started with Earl starting to realize that there are some things on his list that he can never make up for, and starting to feel like theres no way to balance the karmic scales, only to find out that hes inspired others to make their own lists and do good. Once he realizes that his list has inspired so much good, he can finally be done with his own quest of atonement.

Dead like me - was another show that ended without a proper finally. It had a tv movie but it's not available as part of the streaming series package so I haven't seen it. Also, Ringer, I liked that show, I'm a huge SMG fan so anything she does I'm watching but that show needed at least another episode if not season to let us know what happened.

Pushing Daisies was screwed by the writers strike, not whatever other things. And it was a massive loss. So well written, so beautifully performed and directed and edited, and that cast Tbh Ill take anything with Kristin Chenowith on her own and be happy, add in the rest of that cast and it was as magical as Neds pretend magic.

I think it was canceled the day after this video first aired but you could definitely consider adding Manifest to this list now. Hopefully, Jeff Rake can find another outlet for the show or realize his wish of making a 2 hour movie special that ties up the plot. He had a 6 season arc all planned out for the show.

Alphas, Dark Matter, John Doe. so many shows that syfy insist on cancelling on a cliffhanger. I also lament the cancellation of Almost Human after just one series, the same with Forever. This list has opened some serious wounds: (

I'm sorry, but breif? Constantine's appeared in multiple episodes & crossovers of the Arrowverse & he's been a main cast member of Legends for the last 3 seasons. And we were given a kind of ending to his show in Legends

Saw that Forever (which I've been rewatching) and Firefly were mentioned but what about these other shows?
The Event
No Ordinary Family
Touch
Believe
I wanted these shows to have an ending so badly.

This list is kind of wrong, a lot of the series on the list the creators told us what would have happened, and some of them had some continuation, like Alf that continued in an awful movie, but it continued.

Quantum Leap was a disappointment. Sam never got to go home. He supposedly fixed Als life by getting his first wife to wait for him to return from being MIA, but we never got to see how it changed him.

The CW might make a lot of DC shows, doesn't mean they're the best at it. Supergirl's first season was CBS and that was one of its best. It started going downhill when The CW took over.

Moonlight (CBS) was a great vampire show, but was unfortunately one of many casualties of the 2007-08 Writer's Strike. Luckily, Alex O'Laughlin later shined on the Hawaii Five-0 remake.

Supah Ninjas literally ended with one of the main characters being abducted and now we'll never know what happened!
My babysitters a vampire also had one hell of a cliffhanger ending

This list just goes to show how underrated of a series Faking It was, not even getting an honorable mention despite being one of the most iconic LGBT+ shows of its time

Occasionally? Occasionally? Constantine is literally one of the main characters on Legends of Tomorrow, not some recurring character. Sheesh! Do your research next time!

What about The A-team series, Galactica 1980, Spin City, Ghostwriter, Wishbone, and Emily Owens M. D? Those had weird endings that left more questions than answers.

Mabye the baby that showed up was Conner, the hybrid clone of Superman and Luthor. Not sure how they would explain how he ended up with Clark and Lois.

Unless they were going to let Constantine be as dark as it needed to be, they shouldn't bother putting it on TV.
I've never even heard of 'Pitch'

The Lying game finale still gets me frustrated. After finale like that we never got to see what happened. It should definitely have been on this list.

What they don't realize is that ABC, NBC, and cbs are terrible with shows. That's why I don't watch their shows until it have a couple of season

Definitely Pushing Daisies but other older ones include The Pretender, The Agency and Invasion. I hated they were canceled after cliffhangers.

Totally agree with Pushing Daisies being number 1. Part of me still hopes that it will air again and we find out the reason behind Neds powers.

The cliffhanger on moesha was what happened since miles was kidnapped.
Also, Star never ended properly. We don't know who survived.
