For the first time in a while for one of these types of lists, I don't have any major objections at all. These are all great choices for these respective years and even if you lean towards a different film in each of these years, you can't deny the films chosen are still pretty darn good films. I have 4 years in particular that would have been difficult choices for my list.
I have Mulan and The Prince of Egypt tied, but 1998 also had A Bug's Life, Antz, and The Rugrats Movie which I also really enjoyed.
In 1999 my pick is Toy Story 2, but if you want to limit it to one movie per franchise then I have no issue with Tarzan or The Iron Giant.
If you didn't go with Toy Story for 1995, Ghost in the Shell or Whisper of the Heart would be my choices.
In 1993, if not Nightmare, then Batman: Mask of the Phantasm would also have been a solid pick.

CATS DONT DANCE is a TRUE HISTORICAL GEM from WB animation that believe it or not, became the first non Disney animated film to win Best Picture Annie Award, not to mention that honorably speaking, other well animated films like Quest for Camelot would technically count a rare gem because like you mention in the alphabetical best animated films of all time, it is one of those good quality animated films that has rarely a Q initial

Points of Contention in this list:
1995: Personally I liked both of these movies for different reasons so it is hard to choose between them.
1996: Yes, this movie is dark but the soundtrack is so underrated! It deserves more recognition than it gets!
1997: I actually would choose Anastasia over Hercules.

Disney dominated the 1990s, but 1997 I feel Hercules or even Anastasia the first non-Disney movie to be that successful since Don Bluths film of the 1980s. Princess Mononoke wasnt that great because of the terrible release by Miramax, I would say Anastasia was better because it was kind of like Titanic which also came out in 1997!

Most of this video felt like a direct adaptation of my own personal 90s animated films list!
Until the last two films that is. Don't get me wrong, Mulan and Tarzan aren't bad, far from it. But my personal choices are Prince of Egypt for 1998 and Toy Story 2 for 1999.

As much as I love Tarzan and find it a brilliant film, I really wanted 1999 to be Toy Story 2. It proved that animated sequels either match or sometimes elevate above the initial material while remaining true to its characters, themes and overarching sentimentality.

To me, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Cats Don't Dance are the best animated movies of 1993 and 1997. Both underrated and didn't do well at the box office but from their animation, writing and music, they deserved to be call a masterpiece.

Besides 1995, 1997, 1998 and 1999 the ones listed are the only movies from those years that I know. So this should be most popular animated movies from each year. Also The Prince of Egypt should be the one for 1998. Thats basic knowledge.

I disagree with 1995. I prefer Pocahontas over toy story. But I LOVE that you picked the hunchback of notre dame, totally under rated movie! Also again I found princess mononoke boring, Hercules would have been my 1997 choice.

Its sad that the little mermaid gets left out on these 90s list cause it came out at the end of 89. I highly doubt yall would do top 10 animated movies of the 1980-1989 cause animation was somewhat dying at that time.

Tarzan has a special place in my heart because thats the first movie I saw in the theaters as a child I dont remember going to the theater. But Tarzan and Phil Collins have always been amazing.
