So glad The Big Sick is not only on this list, but that it is #1. I was expecting LaLa Land to be the top pick on this list because it romanticizing LA (a big reason for the title of this film, but when a Rom-Com is based (loosely) on real life AND the co-stars not only wrote the screenplay (awarded an Oscar nomination) but are based on their own lives AND are married, that would be a winner, worthy of the #1 spot.

How dare you put Easy A and About Time in the honorable mentions. In fact, the only romcom on that list that I actually liked was Silver Lining Playbook, which was because it was the only one that actually might happen in real life. As far as Im concerned the movies I mentioned are right up there with Internal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind.

Definitely, Maybe deserves an honorable mention. I really like that film, although it's certainly bittersweet. Maybe because I am the age of the characters (I was in my early 20s during the early 90s, for example, it had a nostalgic beat for me in addition to liking Isla Fisher and Ryan Reynolds.

The only objection I have with this list is that La La Land was on it and labelled as a romcom by definition of the genre, a romcom has a happy ending La La Land did not, even though it was a great movie!

While I adored Love Simon, I wish that they'd kept the ending of the book, and had their private moment, as opposed to in front of the entire school.

I love how many of these choices are POC and younger actors near the end of the 2010's. I'm glad the later 10's are becoming/ became more inclusive.

Curious as to how La La Land is considered a rom com? I don't really remember laughing. I remember it being more dramatic than anything.

romcom = romantic comedy. There are some movies on here that don't really apply. But mostly pretty good movies anyway.

How is La La Land a rom-com? it's one of the saddest romance to be ever put on screen, and there was not a funny bone in it

I'm sure this is largely based on popularity but I mean come on, About Time deserves way better than an honorable mention

Im so sorry, but do you know the meaning of a rom-com? It's a romantic COMEDY, not a romantic movie.
