Top 20 Best Wedding Songs of All Time My all-time favorite wedding song was performed by the great pop vocalist John Gary
He possessed a 4 octave vocal range, recognizable rich vibrato, and angelic celestial voice in his upper range.
All those engaged ready for wedlock must listen to this. When you do, you will want this song played at your wedding. I guarantee. Also, Gary was Elvis Presleys favorite pop vocalist.
Below are a few more Gary songs that will open the recess of your heart and soul.
Once Upon A Time
( the best rendition of this song ever recorded. All the well known professional vocalists like Tony Bennett, Andy Williams have sung it but none come close to Garys angelic rendition)
If You Love Me Really Love Me
( an obscure song from his So Tenderly album. He sustains the last refrain PHRASE 13 words ( not note) for 30 SECONDS!
No doubt one of the longest One Breath Phrases ever recorded!
Autumn Leaves
( a popular song sung by many vocalists, but John Gary uses his 4 octaves to SOAR into the angelic realm.
Something Simple
( an obscure one from his So Tenderly Lp that will open the floodgate of your heart and soul. Again, he SOARS!
And finally, The Sound Of Music
( everyone remembers the movie and Julie Andrews wonderful rendition but few knew that John Gary recorded it FIRST from his The Nearness Of You Lp and his voice merges with the violin at the end of the song and he holds the last phrase for 25 seconds
And speaking of the violin, here are a couple of reasons why John Garys voice was so electrifying and angelic.
His mother was a Professional Concert Violinist and when John was 6 or 7 years old, she would play the violin and have her son vocalize to the sound of the violin. Another reason was because John was a professional DEEP SEA DIVER and invented an AQUALUNG and set a WORLD RECORD for remaining under water over TWO HOURS!
Well, thats it. I hope I enticed you to listen to these 5 John Gary recordings. You will thank me.
All love from Miami Beach, Florida,
-Al\r\n

Our wedding back in 1985 was thrown together pretty quickly: 3 days. While I was able to create a tape for the wedding itself (Always & Forever by Heatwave & The Promise by Debby Boone before the ceremony & One Hand, One Heart from the West Side Story soundtrack to walk down the hallway, I forgot to think of a song for first dance! Since our reception was an open house at a friend's place, I asked to look at the friend's collection. The only song I could find that was close to suiting was I Honestly Love You by Olivia Newton-John. It wasn't until we were actually dancing & I was listening to the lyrics that I discovered that I may have goofed (Listen to the last verse! However, here we are, still married in 2022, so I guess it turned out all right.

So just had our 28th wedding anniversary. We were 20/21 when we got married back in day. An we had no clue about putting on wedding so most of our family took over planning it. The music was some family friend on piano with some odd song my Mother picked out. Dont even remember it. But our song I wouldve played an we consider it our song Is John M Montgomery I Swear. He was the first concert we ever went to an still to this day I hear it an smile!

I recommend 2 wedding songs that are deeply touching imo:
1. My Immortal by Evanescence, thanks to my friends' suggestions at an Asperger's group.
2. Love Song by Da-Ice, this one's a little trickier because Japanese music isn't everyone's cup of tea, especially for women (unless you're an anime fan, for instance, but it's an innocent and tender song I'd adore to dance and joyfully cry on my bride's shoulder to.

I wanted to have Mariah Carey's Thank God I Found You at my wedding. Unfortunately, it was too hard to sing, so we went with You Light Up My Life (LeAnn Rimes' version. Shania Twain's From This Moment wasn't released yet, but it would have been the one. or Forever And For Always (by Shania Twain as well.

Our first dance was to Love Can Build a Bridge by the Judds. We loved that song then and still now to this day. Other songs I would consider too would be Dance Me To the End of Love (Leonard Cohen, Perfect (Ed Sheeran, and I'll Never Say Goodbye (Barbra Streisand.

Close to You by The Carpenters was Homer and Marge Simpson's wedding song. If I were to get married, Amtrak by Los Retros would be my first choice for my first dance. My second choice would be Your Face by Maureen McElheron (at regular speed, not slowed by )

The fact that Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden wasn't even mentioned on this list is shameful. There was not a wedding in the late 90's and early 2000's that did not use that song. It was inescapable. It was THE wedding song of that time.

Twenty years ago, we danced to Unchained Melody, by the Righteous Brothers for our first dance. Even though there is and always will be ups and downs, i will do it all over again! It has giving me my two gifts, my boys.

I think a top 3 that probably should have made the list would be Keith Whitley (and all covers of it) When You Say Nothing At All. even in 2022 that song still gives me chills Coldplay yellow is a good one too

We love Christmas so we chose Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow. The snow is a metaphor for all the things life throws at you. As long as you love me so, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

I swear, you better not put marry you by Bruno Mars on here; that is not a romantic song.
Edit: Son of a gun
Also 12/20 of these were post 2000, and most of those being post 2010. Wow.

Somewhere out there, there has to be a slightly deranged Game of Thrones fan who actually wants Rains of Castamere played at their wedding. I can hear the guests' nervous laughter already!

My mother and father's first dance song believe it or not was Tom Petty Free Falling a little different but it was good for them and they're 90's mullet and perm haha

Next's Wifey, Boys II Men's PM Bended Knee, Babyface's Every Time I Close My Eyes, and Jagged Edge's Let's Get Married all should've at least gotten honorable mentions.

How about Jim Croce's Time In a Bottle or Can You Feel the Love Tonight? from The Lion King? Or how about the First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, by Roberta Flack?

I know it's an old fogie, but I think After the Lovin' by Engelbert Humperdinck should be on the list. It's the perfect first dance song for newlywed couples.

Whenever I get married, my first dance is going to be to Satellite by Nickelback. From the moment I first heard that song I knew it would be my first dance

This is one of the most depressing lists of songs I have ever heard. Get some positivity in your songs. Its like a list of songs for the drama queens.
reply

I would have Teenage Dream by The Rescues on this list. It was beautiful when Luther and Sloane got married in the third season of The Umbrella Academy
reply

Ill still be loving you by Restless Heart was our wedding song. It was perfection. Till all the mountains are valleys, till all the oceans run dry
reply

Beautiful in white, Westlife
Never seen anything quite like you tonight, The Script
Nr 1: (my favourite) Because you loved me, Celin Dion

There's a lot of songs that I would like to dance/walk down the aisle to, but the two that stick out are All I Ask of You and Don't Think Twice.
reply

At Last was the song at my wedding. If I were doing it again, I might pick John Legend's All of Me. It seems to fit after 24 years of marriage.
reply

Yeah my dad sing everything I do I do it for you at their wedding and he sometimes sings it to my mom and my parents dance to endless love
reply

I walked down the aisle to Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts and we danced our first dance to Shut up and Dance by Walk the Moon
reply

Follow you into the Dark - DCFC No Billy Joel? Not that I love Just the way you are but your list is decidedly deficient. Basically sucks
reply

I am surprised you did not have Stevie Wonder's You and I. I feel it says everything a person feels about their significant other.
reply

I dont know who originally sang Cheerleader nor do I know who sung it better. But whether or not, I think, it should be on this list.
