Please ) Freaky Friday - and ALL its lookalikes, not because they're great, which they're not, but because enough is enough already! And isn't Dead Poets Society cut from the same cloth as 'To Sir, With Love' and 'Goodbye, Mr. Chips'? Actually, I'm all for having a 'beloved' teacher movie every ten years or so. Given the state of our schools, a reminder that greatness is possible is sorely needed. And while it sure ain't a movie, Gilmore Girls, because it covers so much teenage life. Who could pull this off a second time? Last, it both pleases and rankles me that Moonlight' is thought of as a teen movie or that its theme is seen as unique. It is a direct descendant of 'Native Son' (1940 - Richard Wright, and 'Go Tell it on the Mountain' (1953 -James Baldwin. Eighty years later, so little progress, so little change, Clearly, the message here needs constant retelling to new young audiences. Hopefully, awareness will create change.

You could literally populate this list with just John Hughes films. Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, Weird Science, Ferris Bueller, Sixteen Candles, Some Kind of Wonderful. the man was a genius who genuinely understood the depth and breadth of what coming of age in the 80s was all about. And not one of them could be remade and still capture the essence and nuance of the original in even the remotest of ways. Reboot? Mayyyyyybe, following the exploits of the children of the original characters and incorporating elements of the original story. but given the way Hollywood has followed that trend I don't see that going well at all. It'd be like trying to reboot/remake Gone With the Wind or Casablanca. You can't recapture lightning in a bottle, and you can't recapture what made a classic A Classic. Just leave well enough alone, and let these films remain timeless as they are.

Am I the only one who actually loves Bring it On: All or Nothing more so than the original and watch it constantly all of the time and don't mind the crumping scene though it is pretty weird?
Don't get me wrong the original Bring it On movie is very good and is my second favorite but I was introduced to Bring it On: All or Nothing first and it's the only Bring it On movie I own and I've watched it countless times while not really caring much about owning the original. I'm just saying it bugged me that this video here dissed on my favorite Bring it On movie. :(

No offense but if they want to remake Grease like they did with West Side Story that is alright with me. I have no problem with it. I mean it will never take itself too seriously so it isn't that big of a deal. I can imagine a lot of people in those roles now that could fit the right age requirement.
If they wanna remake The Princess Diaries be my guest. Honestly they could remake any of these movies and I wouldn't be upset about it. Sorry people.

Ferris Buller didn't play Hukie he ditched school which is playing hookie. I get you aren't American. But if you are going to talk about Ferris Bueller's Day Off. At least learn how to pronounce the words correctly. You have one job. And that's to talk correctly about the topic of the video.

They shouldve never attempted to remake Dirty Dancing Abigail Breslin and Colt Praitz (not sure if I accurately spelled his name) cant act for shit, and also they changed way too much of the story
And those endless remakes of classic horror films should stop, theyre all terrible

Grease- My mom hung out with crater face a few times. He lived right next to her first husband's mother's house and her friend dated him for a bit. So, she hung out with him a couple times. After the movie came out too. I always thought that was cool. So I thought I'd share.

Your list is pretty solid but Love, Simon is not a practically perfect coming out story. He is forcibly outed, experiences a mental health crisis and a falling out with his friends. I literally love that movie so much but that was a bad choice of words.

They definitely better never reboot Dead Poet's Society. Not only was that a classic in every sense of the word, but Robin Williams is absolutely iconic in that role. I can't imagine anyone topping him, and I don't want to see them try.

Grease as much I love it would absolutely not work being remade today. I absolutely hated how Sandy changed for Danny.
I definitely want to see the movie musical of the Mean Girls since I havent seen the Broadway musical yet!

Great list! Easy A is such an underrated movie - I was so glad to see it on here. The other one Id add is Dirty Dancing (although not sure its a Teen Movie. The live remake with Abigail Breslin was dismal.

Most of the teen movies that have been remade in the last 10 years shouldnt have been remade. The next generation isnt going to have much to remake bc theyre not doing much original now.

I think The Breakfast Club should be updated for a new generation, with Bender and Claire not ending up together. I don't want to know what Bender would be like in 10-20 years.

a few of these were the first in series (with not always the same characters.
You bring up stage versions of the films - is there any prospect of a musical version of MOONLIGHT?

I would hate for them to remake the mighty ducks, or the sand lot. I recommend address unknown as a good movie to watch as it is both a mystery and a coming of age movie.

It's too late now for She's All That (thanks to Netflix and Addison Rae's acting in He's All That, but maybe we can save the rest from that same horrific fate. Lol

Oh they better not ever remake Clueless! I also saw this in the movie theater as a teen (about 5 times) and tried dressing like Cher for the duration of freshman year!

What happened to Fast Times at Ridgemont High? It was the Clueless of the 80s directed by the writer of Clueless for a new generation.

I think The Princess Diaries should get a re-adaptation because the 2001 film wasn't as good as the novel. Don't get me wrong.

I wouldn't mind if Sixteen Candles was remade. It's super problematic now. It might actually be decent film if made nowadays.

Well; some might be pretty out of touch but I think you said it perfectly: It's just too timeless to be touched.

If they do a remake of Heathers it should be a film version of the broadway musical but that's not necessary either
