I really wish she had taken the money and run. Gotten away from the press and lived a nice, quiet life with her boys and someone who genuinely loved her. She gave far too much of herself to the press out of hurt. Then they wouldn't leave her alone. Both her and Charles were foolish to reveal anything to the hungry, grasping media. For Diana, they pretended to be her friends, sympathetic but they lied to her and stoked her paranoia so she'd reveal private information about herself and the royals.
Yes, Charles deserved to be dropped like a hot potato by Diana. He was a horrible husband. But by opening the flood gates, Charles and Diana ignited a press war. And ultimately, the paparazzi drove Diana to her death. They still haven't learned their lesson. It's why William is so guarded, taking his grandmother's advice. Don't give the rumours any attention, it'll just encourage more gossip mongering.
And I don't blame Harry for wanting to step back and live a private life. If only he could see that Oprah and Gayle and Netflix aren't his friends. They pretend to be, but they want exactly what Bashir did, a juicy exclusive. And only harm will come of it.
Also, I don't know how recording people without their knowledge and publishing it was allowed!

I dont actually know anybody or seen anybody say one single bad thing about her. I was only 7 when she died and didnt really know anything about her but i will never forget that morning walking into the living room looked at the TV and it was showing the black car flattened and wrecked then i looked at my mother sitting on the sofa with her pink dressimg gown on she looked shocked and sad. My dad asked what happened so my mum told him and my parents didnt care about the Royal family but i could sence they were sad and shocked. When i got much older i watched the funeral for the first time and it just felt so wrong. Ive never seen so many people and flowers. That family did not deserve her!

It's mindblowing that a generation later, they (the Firm) are doing the same thing to her son and his wife. If you become more popular than them, they will feed you to the dogs (press) and let them pick your bones dry. Thank God Harry and Meghan got out alive. Catherine will be the obedient, submissive, always walking two steps behind William-consort that Philip was to Elizabeth. It's a role no modern woman could fill and be truly happy. The documentary felt disjointed, especially without someone narrating it to give it more structure and clarity. It came across as a messy compilation of clips. Though, the very few moments that I enjoyed were when Diana, despite being hounded by the pesky paparazzi and shielding herself with a tennis racket, briefly talked to the little girl and when she visited and woke up a homeless man. She was really The People's Princess. RIP

I think its sickening what these people with cameras did to this woman, to think they can get away with this behavior is terrible, she couldnt do anything without 100 people trying to get that money shot, well now shes gone forever, a beautiful soul, gone forever, think about that for a minute the next time you see someone famous and you want to just say hi to them, leave them alone, let them live their life their way.

I don't mean to bring religion into this, but the problem with Christopher Hitchens was that he was an unhappy atheist who hated seeing people's happiness. That's why he bullied Diana and her mourners after she passed, and he even continued to bash her in one interview without even knowing her, because she was a good person who did good to people all around the world and he didn't like it.

The very fact that everything to make her the monster in the whole story says everything. Charles was the one who was dishonest in the relationship the entire time, but because of his insecurities and resentment towards Diana because she was more popular, made it easier for her to be hated by the establishment. It was ok to make her the bad guy for her indiscretion, and him the martyr.

I did really admire her but I just cant justify how she publicly dealt with her marriage with Charles (like slagging off Charles publicly etc also this is the same criticism I have of Charles. She shouldve put her children first & for there sake, keep it private. Harry & William have spoken about how horrible it was to see their parents marriage breakdown in the papers.

I can't imagine the pain of being young and inexperienced and dreaming of a solid marriage only to be used a Brood mare to produce an Heir and a Spare while your husband carries on an affair. His family is aware but looks the other way because it's actually an unspoken tradition for the Prince of Wales to have a mistress. . that's being in a Narscistic relationship!

I think that it worked well without a narrator or any new interviews. The footage of Charles & Diana looking downcast as the wedding carriage came to a halt outside BP needed no further explanation. It was a good decision not to show Diana & Dodi in the lift at the Ritz for the zillionth time as well.

If Diana hadnt married into the royal family, they would probably be irrelevant by now. As much as I love and respect her majesty Queen Elizabeth II, they had become boring. Thank God Dianas offspring will run the monarch someday. Diana was a beautiful woman inside and out.
