Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, so were going to forget Girls Generation and 2NE1 are we? Like not everyone listens to K-Pop, but Im pretty sure those two groups are well remembered than Girls Aloud and what not. I mean 2NE1 reunited at Coachella and Girls Generation came back as well this year. Really hate these lists that basically section off artists for not singing in English when not only one of these K-Pop groups I mentioned have American members, but one of them (Girls Generation) were in the top 5 followed accounts on Twitter, which is pretty crazy, since they werent popping off in the American music charts like K-Pop acts today. This was back in 2015. But yeah, pretty sad list. Not saying any of these girl groups are untalented, just the bias this list has.

I get the most use the people who probably compiled this list are millennials or gen z, so I'm not going to get into ones that I feel should have been included. But I do have to point out that I recently found out a story about Salt and Pepa that's changed my 30 plus year opinion of them. They did Spinderella super dirty look it up. It's a shame because I loved Salt and Pepa

I know it was difficult to narrow down the list, but I feel like Venus by Bananrama still stands the test of time; after all, it is still used in advertisements. I might would have chosen it over Cruel Summer.
And, where are The Bangles. Walk Like An Egyptian, Manic Monday, or Eternal Flame, even.

I remember All Saints! My older sister used to have their debut album. I am also glad that you mentioned the song Never Ever! One of the misheard lyrics in my opinion was towards the end of the song. Original lyric: You can write it in a letter, babe. Misheard lyric: you can ride it in the elevator!

In my country and in the eighties there was girlsgroup vcalled the dolly dots. They had a few hits in some countries but except Japan i dont know which countries. Maybe some ladies who were teenagers in the eighties knows it. I was a kid then and they had hits from 1979 to 1990

Spice Girls. Back when I was a little nipper, they were the queens of the charts. All Saints are good too. Their best song is Pure Shores. Once you know at least some of the words, it stirs up an air of escapism and wanderlust.

My girl band obsession was BWitched! I was obsessed with their song C'est La Vie! OMG I'm getting so nostalgic just thinking about how many times I would dance and sing along to that song as a kid! I miss the 90s!

Life and music did exist before the 80's. This list could have just as easily included Heat Wave by Martha and the Vandellas, Leader of the Pack by The Shangri-Las and Lady Marmalade by Labelle

Girls Aloud and Atomic Kitten were probably not popular in our country since out of the Top 10, I dont remember them at all Would rather have Little Mix and Sugababes in the Top 10.

No mention of BWitched's C'est la Vie is an understatement. I had bought that album and listened to it constantly. Their first album is still my favorite from the group.

I think you mean girl group not girl band since none of these bands play instruments (except for one honorable mention which didn't even include The Bangles btw.

What do you mean, might not remember 80's girl groups? If it weren't for The Go Go's and The Bangles, the term girl power wouldn't mean much.
