That is my number one reason as well. I can't remember the last time an actress gave such a nuanced yet subtle performance and then add in the fact that the character is one of literature's most difficult to portray. 2019's Little Women was almost more of Amy's long journey into womanhood and to Laurie with a few moments of Jo throw in now and then which was fine by me given how fantastically Gerwig and Pugh made the character finally sing.

Florence Pugh's portrayal was the first time I actually liked Amy in Little Women. I have seen so many of the movie adaptations and this was the first time she actually had layers and depth. As you say, that is also due to the writers/director, but still loved Florence in the role!

I adore Florence, she's such a Marvellous addition to the MCU. The first project I saw her in was Little Women, and despite Amy having always been my least favourite sister, Florence instantly made her more sympathetic and likable. The role deservedly garnered her an Oscar Nomination!

The only thing I really see Florence in was Hawkeye and I didn't like her character all that much but however I did see her in an episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls and I have to say I like her brave bold personality.
