Im not sure how true this is, but I heard somewhere that they had to add Marvs scream with the spider in post production. Despite tarantulas not having ears, his breath wouldve been felt by the hairs on the spider. These vibrations might have scared the spider and caused him to bite. So, Daniels just had to make a facial expression to look like he was screaming and the screen was added later.

I knew all of these as I started to get older but the 1st I thought Macaulay Culkin did not fall off the shelves but someone else did when I 1st watched the movie when I was 9. When I was 13 I was disappointed that the B/W movie wasn't real as I went looking for it lol.
Would like to see other videos like this with the other Home Alone movies if possible

7: 06 No. David Stern pretended to scream and then in a different shot actually screamed. If he were to scream as the spider was on his face, he would scare the spider which is not a good shot. The people who filmed the scene before told David to try as hard as possible not to flinch a muscle when the real spider fell on his face.

The first fact in the top 10 doesn't surprise me cuz watching this for the first time I knew Marv and Harry would have died hundreds or even thousands of times. The first injury Harry got in the sequel was him being launched 100 ft in the air and falling into a car shattering the car. That's death.

I'm not surprised that Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern struggled to keep it PG, especially since Joe was used to doing more mature movies. Also, I still wish that Angels with Filthy Souls was a real movie. Fun fact: Angels with Filthy Souls was also used as an easter egg, in Detective Pikachu.

Nearly all of this stuff I already knew due to watching the film with audio commentary on the Blu-Ray release and reading trivia online because I wanted to know how they did this scene and that effect. It didnt ruin anything for me. If anything, it only satisfied my never-ending curiosity

You can't ruin someone's childhood after it happened. Not without time travel. It's an annoying phrase that's thrown around far too much for film fans who acquire new information. Growing up in a war torn country is a ruined childhood

The Home Alone fact that has ruined me is the fact that three really terrible Home Alone movies - all made for TV - were made after Home Alone 3, which was the last good HA movie. Somewhere John Hughes is rolling in his grave.

The van that almost ran Kevin down was driven in reverse. The film was shown in reverse so it looked like it almost hit him. The scream by Stern with the spider was added post production as to not traumatize the animal.

Sometimes its hard for me to revisit Home Alone or any of Macaulay Culkins movies, knowing that his father used him for financial gain. Hollywood has always been, and sadly still is, a toxic environment for children.

Regardless, Home alone will always be a classic of christmas and an Icon of pop culturas, besides it wasn't meant to be realistic, but to be funny and great. I keep watching it every year no matter my age.

I heard because Maculkin's parents doing this for fame and money that when Chris Columbus went to cast for the Harry Potter films he made sure that the child actors came from stable families

The tarantula wasnt startled by Daniel Sterns scream because he didn't scream on set. He did that silently and they added the scream in post production.

VERY nice video. Only the information is incorrect about tarantulas. Spiders have hairs on their legs that allow them to perceive sounds.
