I'm from American Fork, the town where the Lafferty case happened, and so is my mom. She was babysitting down the street when it happened and could see the police cars and helicopters from her house. She babysat IN the house a couple years later and I've driven past it multiple times. I love Andrew Garfield and I want to watch the series so bad but it just hits a little too close to home.

Not sure if Dopesick counts a crime drama, but that was my favorite tv show this year. Its infuriating that Purdue knew how addictive and potentially deadly oxycontin was and gave zero f-ks. So many peoples lives were ruined by this med, this company and pure, unbridled greed.

I haven't watched any of these. I will never understand changing the story when they're creating a series on the case. It should be as close as possible. I don't like when they make things up especially with the story and characters.

2022 was THE year for True Crime Dramas. Friend of the Family is extremely chilling, given how a missing child is every parent's worst nightmare. It helped that they received help from the real victim to make the show more authentic.

When in doubt watch the documentaries. You can find most of them on You Tube. As far as casting is concerned, in Dropout, the eyes have it and Amanda Seyfried's big blues are as startling as Elizabeth Holmes'.
