These breakout stars defined the past decade. For this list, well be looking at Hollywood superstars who landed their breakout roles in the 2010s and have enjoyed pretty successful careers since. Our countdown includes Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Emma Stone, and more! What promising actors do YOU think are due for a big break in the 2020s?

I would say for me the best breakout star from the 2010s is Florence Pugh because I really liked her as Lady Elizabeth de Burgh Queen Consort of Scotland in outlaw king where she starred alongside the likes of Chris pine as Robert the Bruce king of Scotland and Aaron Taylor Johnson as James Douglas lord of Douglas knight of Scotland but besides her role in outlaw king I also loved and enjoyed her in the 2019 adaptation of Little women for which she was nominated for best supporting actress and in the movie she played Amy March and starred alongside actresss like Emma Watson, Laura Dern, Meryl Streep and American born Irish actress Saorsie Ronan but Pugh also starred in this movie with great actors like Bob Odenkirk who is best known for his role as Saul Goodman on breaking bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul and Upcoming Star Timothee Chalamet who I know as Paul Atreides from the 2021 adaptation of Dune and as King Henry The 5th king of England and lord of Ireland in the movie called the King.

#7 talentless, not good looking, and overrated
#5 not funny, insulting, feminazi, and insufferable
#4 she's the best live action Cruella Devil too
#3 she should've won the Oscar for US
#2 a good actress with a lousy resume. Hidden Figures and Spiderman are her ONLY good movies
#1 HELL YEAH
Who I think will lead the way this decade.
Anya Taylor Joy
Jenna Ortega
Xolo Marienduena (I think that's the right spelling)
Austin Butler
Florence Pugh
Dacre Montgomery
Sadie Sink
Peyton List

I think Millie Bobby Brown is great dont get me wrong, but shes been 2-3 somewhat significant roles. The problem I have is how she acts in interviews. Almost as if shes too prideful. She almost wants to talk over her costars or the interviewer to get her attention. Reminds me a lot of Jennifer Lawrence in that aspect. Both just seem to want the attention on themselves. I think Millie has a lot of growing up to do

Adam Driver really is a great actor and has given amazing performances from Kyle Wren in Star Wars to Maurizio Gucci in House of Gucci, Flip Zimmerman in Blackkklansma, not to mention my favorite skit ever on SNL as Pete Davidsons dad on career day. Him not breaking character when everyone else in the room was, especially Pete, was a tribute to his acting not to mention it was hilarious!

What about Taron Egerton? His first breakout role was in Kingsman The Secret Service, he was like a year and half out of RADA when he got the role of Gary Eggsy Unwin and he got his first Golden Globe for his portrail of Elton John in Rocketman back in 2020.
I recall seeing Rami Malek in an episode of Gilmore Girls before he became a household name.

This list isn't last decade. You have Octavia Spencer but The Help is over 10 years, you have Andrew Garfield but Amazing Spiderman and the Social Network are well over 10 years and you have JLaw even though Hunger Games is over 10 years as Well! I'll also mention Emma Stone but I think you're saying she broke out during Birdman and LA La land
reply

I think an honorable mention should go to Steven Yeun. Everyone of course remembers him as Glenn on TWD, but he's shown off his range with Okja, Nope, and Sorry to Bother You. Not to mention, he's also done really good as a voice actor with The Legend of Korra, Voltron: legendary Defender, and fittingly, the lead role on Invincible.

I wonder why Ariana Grande didn't make the list. Yeah she's more of a singer but let us not forget she got her big break when she landed the part of Cat Valentine on Victorious and it was right after the show that she really exploded into the music industry

Jeremy Allen White! He just won the golden globe for his role in the Bear! He was a standout in an amazing ensemble cast of talent (including William H. Macey, in Shameless. I'd love to see him skyrocket to super stardom!

10years was surprisingly long. I didn't realize most of our household A-listers of today, Lupita N'goyo and Jennifer Lawrence, started out in 2010 and beyond. Especially when 2010 just feels like a few years ago.

Millie's career is simply skyrocketing, and she's only 18. Her future is certainly bright, and she can affect a convincing American accent to boot!

Where's Zendaya? Besides being a triple threat and a fashion icon, she's delivered multiple show-stopping performances and won multiple awards.

Fleabag is the funniest, most brilliant piece of comedic television of the century. If Phoebe Waller Bridge is involved, I will watch it.
