Words can't describe how underappreciated these voice acting performances are. For this list, well be looking at the best works by voice actors in film and TV that havent gotten the level of praise or recognition we think they deserve. Our countdown includes Rugrats, Hocus Pocus, Lilo & Stitch, and more! Which voiceover do YOU think deserves more love?

Tress MacNeille deserves way more recognition! She does SO many different voices from various Simpsons characters and other shows. I love Lindsey Naegle, Agnes Skinner, and the Crazy Cat Lady just to name a couple.
You definitely missed the voice actors from the best stop-motion animated film to ever be made. Coraline.
Teri Hatcher as The Other Mother/The Beldam should have at least been nominated for an Oscar. And Dakota Fanning did an amazing job as well.

Some other prominent voices I feel deserves significant notoriety, and not just big name actors; David Kaye, Scott McNeil, the Dobson brothers, (I mean Naraku, main villain in the Inuyasha series, Hello)
Garry Chalk, Matthew Mercer, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, and countless more in the game/anime mainstream. Theyre most under appreciated when comparing to big name studios and Hollywood movies.

reply

Lorenzo Music as Garfield 1000% should have been on this list. Why was Jeremy Irons here? His performance was not underrated at ALL.
No shade to Jason Marsden as Thackery Binx (Marsden is definitely a VO pro who deserves the recognition, but if we're going to talk about an underrated voice of a black cat, then I would absolutely also nominate Nick Bakay as Salem in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

For the Don Bluth fans out there:
Dom DeLuise in Secret of NIMH, American Tail, All Dogs Go to Heaven
Motherfckin BURT REYNOLDS in All Dogs Go to Heaven
Charo as Mrs. Toad in Thumbelina
Carol Channing as Mrs. Fieldmouse in Thumbelina
Hank Azaria as Bartok in Anastasia
and finallysweet angel Judith Barsi as Ducky in Land Before Time and as Anne Marie in All Dogs Go to Heaven.

Top 3 (In my opinion):
1. Chris Sanders as Stitch
2. Jeremy Irons as Scar
3. Bradley Cooper as Rocket
How are these voice acting performances underappreciated? they've brought so many amazing characters in movies and tv shows. These actors have brought these characters to life and everybody loves them. Honestly, In my opinion, they shouldn't be underappreciated.

First, Jeremy Irons is very appreciated for has role as Scar so why is he on here. Second, why are people in the comments saying he didn't sing be prepared, he did. He broke his voice at u won't get a sniff without me. Third, since He doesn't belong on this list since his role is VERY appreciated I vote to replace him with Kevin Spacey as Hopper in A Bugs Life.
reply

Jim Cummings. Because I don't want to well actually this, but I understand that Jeremy Irons didn't actually sing all of Be Prepared. He damaged his vocal cords part way through. So Jim Cummings had to come in and sing the rest of the song. Which is crazy because this man had to be Jeremy Irons as Scar and sound perfectly the same. That's mad talent.

You forgot Eddie Murphy as Mushu, Mako as General Iroh, Whoopi Goldberg as Shenzi, B. D. Wong as Shang, Jim Cummings as Ed, Tigger, and Cat, Paul Winchell as Tigger, Gilbert Gottfried as Iago, Robin Williams as Genie and Batty, and Nancy Cartwright ( and Christine Cavanaugh ) as Chuckie Finster. You missed a lot of great actors. Most of your list sucks.
reply

You could do a list; Strictly on Disney Voice Actors from the Beginning and Still come up short. Heroes, Villains, Children, Animals, Objects. Then, move on to Don Bluth and Filmation. G I - Joe, Transformers. Charles Schultz 'Peanuts', those were actual children and a shout to the Trombonist as the Adults.

I was glad to see Ashley Eckstein, but I also think her co-star, Dee Bradley Baker should have gotten a nod. Not only did he have the daunting task of voicing _all_ of the clones, he had to make each of them distinct - without giving them a different voice. He not only pulled it off, he did so brilliantly.
reply

No one in their right mind underappreciates Jeremy Irons' performance as Scar. His performance is up there with Kevin Conroy, Robin Williams and Mark Hamill when discussing iconic voice roles.
In fact, the only one on this list that's possibly underappreciated is Chris Sanders.

reply

Ok so I think both Brian Murray as Long John Sliver and Emma Thompson as Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet should have been listed. Treasure planet is so underrated as a movie in general but it's one of my top favs. Also Richard White as Gaston and Keith David as Dr. Facilier
reply

The title says 'underappreciated. ' Everyone I know thinks Jeremy Irons as Scar was incredible so definitely does not belong on this list. Also, just a note, Jim Cummings sang most of Be Prepared as Jeremy Irons' voice gave out and he couldnt finish it after a few lines.
reply

If you have an underrated voice-over performance list and Tara Strong is on the list, I automatically don't take the rest of the list seriously. Much love and respect to her, but nothing about her is underrated or overrated. She deserves all the praise she receives.
reply

I still don't know how Mother Gothel didn't love Rapunzel for even a little bit. Humans are social creatures, if you place enemies with each other in time they will be best friends whether they like it or not.
This is why I also believe she could be a witch.

reply

im truly surprised that non of jim cummings rules has shown up on this or the fact that he took jeremy irons place voicing scar for be prepared cause irons voice gave out. sure it was only after you wont gont sniff without me but thats still amazing.
reply

I adore Jeremy Iros as Scar and Be Prepared is one of my all time fav disney villain songs. It sucks that he wasn't able to sing the entire song, but his replacement part way through is amazing as well cause I hardly ever hear the switch in vocals
reply

Another criminally underrated Tim Curry role is the role of the toxic sludge creature in Ferngully. Which is also a criminally underrated film that I loved as a kid. And also featured an awesome underrated role in Robin Williams' Batty
reply

We all just Mandela Effect forget how Francesca mentioned how Arnold makes her lady parts quiver by her own words. cuz we were too young to know and our parents got bored watching the show.
Just putting that out there.

reply

Seeing Tim Curry on this list thrills my semi villainous heart. His role as Forte was awesome and thank goodness I have that movie.
Never hurts to be a tiny bit villainous when you are mostly heroic all the time.

reply

Tim Curry seems to get underappreciated for a lot of the stuff he does. One of the things I feel is disappointing is hardly anyone acknowledge he voiced the bee that friends with the snorch in Aaaah Real Monsters.
reply

I think all villains need a strong, rather particular voice behind them if they are to put fear in our hearts and that particular chill down our spines. Tim Curry and Jeremy Irons are some amazing examples.
reply

Michael Ansara as Mr. Freeze /Kevin Conroy as Batman / John DiMaggio as the Joker / Tony Jay as Frollo in the Hunchback of Notre Dame / Paul Shenar as Jenner in the Secret of NIMH just to name a few
reply

If we're going to talk about Ducktales, then almost every voice on that show is underrated. Especially Bobby Moynihan, Danny Pudi, and Ben Schwartz (who did a great job as Sonic the Hedgehog, too)
reply

Absolutely agree with everything said about Jason Marsden. For all hes done for tv and film, I feel he hasnt gotten his flowers yet or doesnt get them as often as he should.
reply

Dont forget
Tara Strong as Ben Tennyson (Ben 10)
Jack Black as Po (Kong Fu Panda)
Stephanie Sheh as Sailor Moon
Ben Schwartz as Sonic
And Cristina Vee as Killua (HXH)

reply

Cumberbach definitely deserves some recognition for his role as the dragon that one movie about the short people who like jewelry. He did the motion capture and everything.
reply

The adolescent preconception that girls can't portray boys, even in voice acting, has been repeatedly challenged by the likes of Tara Strong and Christine Cavanaugh.
reply

My question is, is why on this list is Tera strong on this list she is literally the biggest icon in voice acting every child born from 1980-2013 knows who she is
reply

I dont think for one second Jeremy Irons Scar is underappreciated. His voice is iconic in this role and is part of the reason he is my favorite character
