#10 Great classic. Should not have a sequel
#9 a racial divide film that doesn't sugarcoat and actually makes a positive impact on racial relations
#8 sucked (also, TV movies shouldn't count)
#7 Wes Anderson is a talentless overrated pretentious hack
#6 funniest murder mystery ever
#5 I had ( and still do) a crush on Christina Ricci thanks to this film.
#4 the genesis of the serial killer genre ( skip ALL the sequels)
#3 Robin Williams earned that Oscar and it birthed Damon and Affleck's careers
#2 overrated drivel
Never saw When Harry met Sally
Never saw Friday Night Lights
If Beale street could talk is a white people are racist film. It was bad
Beetlejuice is awesome
#1 Didn't see

I kind of wish that there had been two separate fall movies lists - one for spooky, one for not spooky. Maybe it's just me, but I think it would've felt a little cleaner/more satisfying.
Also, I loved Scent of a Woman - I've always been in love with Chris O'Donnell, and the reveal of why that weekend was such a big deal to Pacino's character was very impactful to me. Add to that the experience of someone who barely knows you standing up for you in a way those closest to you won't. yeah, I loved it.

You got mail! Yippee! This is my all time happy film. No one gets shot or dies, there's no blood but yeah there's snotty tissues, daisies, clicks from a typewriter, pumpkins, sharpened pencils, coffee, books and the possibility of an Autumnal romance. It has a happy ending but a beautiful, breathless, exciting beginning. So happy it's number 1 amazing story from 2 of my favourite actors ever

These are mostly Halloween movies. I'd have included some older ones like The Paper Chase, Love Story, Rich Kids, any number of older Woody Allen movies, Metropolitan (though it technically takes place during the holidays) and the one where the New England scenery is almost the main character, The Trouble With Harry.

i like to make every month with a genre of movies
september- thriller(to get you geared up for horror)
october- horror(because of halloween)
and november- musical(because most musical movies come out that month)
and the movies you picks are pretty good for family's in the fall

reply

Just like my beloved Ted Lasso, I like to snuggle up in my bed and watch Youve Got Mail, its one of my comfort movies, I have a list of them since I suffer from Anxiety, btw I love the opening scene with Dreams playing! My favorite Halloween movie is. Beetlejuice

. I would have asked for your number. And I wouldn't have been able to wait 24 hours before calling you up and saying Hey, how. well how about some coffee, or drinks, or dinner, or a movie. for as long as we both shall live?
reply

So often you exclude certain movies but not this time. This could have been a great list if you had left out the Halloween movies and just made them their own list. The order of this list was weird though.
reply

Im sorry. Was Practical Magic on that list? If not it should be.
I did love every movie I saw on there. So many more you could add. Do a family friendly list, a Rom Com list, a horror list etc.

reply

Why does no one make beautiful Autumn-themed movies anymore? Sure, Knives Out is on this list but it seems like the 90s in particular really made a strong effort to wrap you up in that season.
reply

My favorites in this list: Good Will Hunting, Remember The Titans & Hocus Pocus
Movies You forgot: Bring It On, Dead Poets Society, Clue

Missed the best Halloween movie of all: What We Do in the Shadows! The most intelligent, comedic vampire movie out there. We never miss it in October (or any time of year!

I'm adding The Village and When Good Ghouls Go Bad to this list. They're not everyone's favorite, but they have amazing fall cinematography.
reply

Sometimes when I feel like football is all I want to watch I pop on either Remember the Titans which is number nine on the list or Rudy.
reply

4: 06 All the years that I watched Halloweentown, and I never understood what kind of Halloween creature that they were supposed to be.

Knives Out
When Harry Met Sally should have been in the Top 10. Its the best romcom movie! But agree with You've Got Mail at number 1

reply

10 is a must, 8 is a cute one, I really want to see 6, 4 is definitely required, and Beetlejuice definitely deserves honorable mention.
