this is such a fantastic video and i completely agree with everything you said! I wonder how things are going to go when Aidan is finally shown on AJLT. I can only imagine. Maybe she'll marry him now that Big is dead? Like what in the f? I think Big is perfect for Carrie because he keeps her guessing and she otherwise gets bored like with Aidan, a relationship most women would kill for trying to avoid guys like Big. I almost feel however that Bigs death means Carries rebirth, which is so heartbreaking and gutwrenching and btw THANKS for mentioning the abuse that Susan Sharon went through with her husband because it was really just so so SO bad! All of this is so well said. And #1 is absolutely perfect- its not just that Kim wants nothing to do with it, but its how they handled it. She fired me as a friend like no okay Samantha would never be that cold and dismissive. whatever happened to Sam and Carrie off camera youre only hearing Carries side. Thats how a smear campaign happens with Narcissist Carrie Bradshaw. I mean I watch And Just Like That. but I don't take it all that seriously anymore. I'm here for Aidan and i hope he runs away. or maybe he will be the one for Carrie. but in my experience third times the charm is hardly ever correct. That poor man. shes surprised how he treated her when they got back together and wanted to just have Aidan get over what Carrie put him through with Big. It's just all such a shit show. Great video start to finish: )

#10 is a reach. It was clearly an accident and Miranda meant it more as a what if this happened to you scenario, not a threat.
Overall, I agree with most of these, but a few were just part of the times (the way people talked/thought.
They apparently were going to kill off Big in the hypothetical 3rd movie + there were allegations made against the actor around the debut of AJLT. Still, after everything, I wouldve preferred for his death to happen in the season finale instead. Meanwhile, we couldve seen more of him and Carrie as a happy couple (the opposite of the main series.

I think that Carrie is a shallow woman! Seems like all she really cares about is her expensive shoes & clothes. Its not realistic in the scenes where she is running down the road in those terribly expensive high heels! No Real woman can do that! I need my sneakers! Not to mention the crazy clothes! How she treated Aiden is unforgettable! Hes so good to her and she totally takes his kindness for granted! Hes what most women want, not someone that plays with your mind like BIG did! Steve was a great guy too! Miranda treated him soo bad!

It's not fat phobia for your friends to notice that you've put on a little weight and talk with you about it. The conversation the all had about Samantha's weight gain was definitely NOT fat-shaming. From personal & professional experience, I can tell you that MANY people do indeed gain weight when they're unhappy. It's quite common for people to seek 'solace' in food to feel better and therefore gain weight when they're going through something. That's not to say that's what happens with everyone, but it IS quite common.

While I appreciate this back down memory lane journey of the SATC series, it seems like a lot of Monday Morning Quarterbacking. I don't look at these as unforgiveable b/c it was a different time. Think of how much we have grown since then. It is easy to look back on something YEARS later and see the faults but you gotta give it to this show for AT LEAST having 9 of these on TV in the first place. Actually looking at this list helps me appreciate the fact that we are even talking about them in the first place.

I LOVED SATC series in my twenties. It was completely different watching it in my late thirties. I found all the main characters annoying except Samantha, Steve, Aiden, Harry, Jerry and Big. I think Carrie is HORRIBLE! Sooo self -centred, egotistical and immature. At least Big was always upfront with her about who he was. Carrie constantly played games and would never just TALK TO HIM about how she felt! Very annoying. Its funny how your perspectives change as you get older. I think AJLT is just catastrophic!

Number 10 makes no sense, Miranda was not in the wrong. He outed Miranda's pregnancy and she confronted him behind closed doors. She did not threaten to out him, she asked him to consider how he would feel if she'd done the same to him. It's not her fault the nosy person he blabbed to barged into his office without knocking. Also, he was wrong as hell to blame her for the accident, when he was the one who exposed her first and his mistake was the whole reason they had the conversation.

The list seems to expect a nicer world than is most folks reality. I also think its ridiculous to walk through all this and not mention how deeply dysfunctional the entirety of Big and Carries relationship was. Just totally wrong and then suddenly they are continually blissful! The whole show let women justify their bad boyfriends behaviors. But Big and Carrie. . Big and Carrie nothing. Not an envy worthy or goal relationship!

lack of Samantha definitely No. 1. when Kim think is time the all four cast deserve a fair payout from SATC, SJP and Producer refused, now they have to suffer without her. big mistake.
by the way, at the time they probably never thought SATC is the only good thing happen to their career which make them keep crawling back to it. while Kim have move on to other project for good.

Hang on, you apply todays standards of treating LGBTQ people to a show made 30 years ago? Preposterous. Plus, you treat Bigs no show at the wedding as an unforgivble moment? And what would the movie would have been about if not for that? Finally, Big died in the new show because he didnt want to play in it. Get real.
reply

I loved SATC at the time but going back to re-watch now, I realised how toxic the womens relationships with each other were. The only character who is truly authentic is Samantha and her absence from AJLT has only highlighted what toxic women the others are. Samantha deserved better friends!
reply

The write out of Samantha in AJLT was weak. She was a true friend and would not have fallen out over business. In fact, Samantha did Carrie's first PR stuff for drinks. It would've been more realistic that she just grew apart as the other ladies were married and 2 of them even had children.

This video is a perfect example how broken is our society today - everybody is offended by everything and it is so frustrating. Nobody is making Steve's disability, there is no transphobia, no fat shaming etc. Just some moments that led us to the main point of the script.
reply

one unforgiveable scene is when all her friends were late for carrie's birthday dinner at el cantanori. sure they all have their excuses beyond their control, and carrie should have waited longer, but i can totally emphatise with horrible waiting alone must have felt.
reply

To me the most unforgivable moment was when they fat shamed Samantha in the movie. Its ok to gain some weight after pregnancy but its not ok to gain some weight because you have respect and decency and dont want to cheat?
reply

What about when Samantha had the relationship with the handsome black gentleman whose sister was the chef? Samantha and his sister totally perpetuated black stereotypes in the storyline. It was not a good look for the show.
reply

SATC movie scene about Samantha's weight gain WAS a good friend moment. We could ALL use friends who lovingly help us when we are in denial about our self-destructive behavior.
reply

Just so you know as a queer man, the queer wedding in the second movie was absolutely amazing. It didn't put queer people in a box. It gave queer viewers exactly what we wanted.
reply

When SaTC first came out, I was a big fan. I rewatched it after growing up a bit and was appalled at how vapid these characters are. The stories are awful. It doesn't age well.
reply

Right Miranda did nothing wrong in the first one he told about her pregnancy first and he did so she gave a hypothetical saying what if I did that to you it was a mistake!
reply

What about everyone thinking Carrie is fun? Or in the 1st film the horrid bird carcas on her veil and bride-of-frankenstein make up? No wonder Big left, she looked scary
reply

Have any of you listened to the podcast they do after each episode for AJLT? Sometime what they say on there and how they justify things just makes me shake my head.
reply

The outing thing was a bad example as he'd also broken her trust and request to keep the pregnancy a secret, for the time being. Plus, it was an accident, come on.
reply

The fact that they were so judgmental actually made the story relatable. Nowadays shows are so preachy not they managed to be completely unrelatable to real people
reply

Why did Carrie and Big waited so long to marry? The lost too much valuable time. marrying at an age people are taking sons and daughters to the university.
reply

This whole list is unforgivable. And guilty of speculating, and criticizing dismal, non relevant nonsense because ppl these days have nothing better to do
reply

With regard to Cynthia, why couldnt she just keep her mouth shut? Mind her own business? She is my least favorite character than and now she is insufferable.
reply

I hated how they all reacted to Samantha putting on a little weight. I couldn't even tell the difference and yet they acted as if she's gotten obese!
reply

Miranda didn't out her colleague, he wasn't secretive about her pregnancy and she didn't even mention it in front of anybody. It is his fault.
reply

#2. The saddest, worst moment of both series and both movies. I cry every time in the movie after he doesnt show up, but his death is too much.
