Margot owns the movie. She said it before, she did not auditioned for the role. Her production company owns the movie, and she bought it to be able to perform the role of Barbie. This is the only important movie she has ever done in her life.

I took my 9 yo son to this movie because he said he wanted to hate watch it. I didn't care. I just really wanted to see it. (Greta Gerwig is a great director, no way is she signing on for a fluff Barbie movie. My son and I both walked out impressed. Top notch movie. I'd love to see it again and find other things I didn't notice.

Was I the only little girl who thought it would be really weird and icky to play with a grown up doll? the closest I got was a bendable skipper I was given, who promptly had her hair chopped, went swimming in the horse trough, and was last seen reverting to her animal self in our woods.

When my girls were young we got a puppy. He was the size of Build a Bear clothes and my youngest endeavored to make him STYLISH! He said he didnt like it by chewing off one of her Barbies feet. My oldest somehow attached a pencil eraser as replacement. Voile! Peg Leg Barbie.

4 August: I saw Barbie 2x in 2 days, first 'double' so close in all my 66 years. Stellar achievement! Don't let He's just Ken in promo put you off; it's a vital plot point. Oscars for Margot & Ryan!
