She's the creator, or the daughter Barbie. ? I haven't seen the movie yet and I tried to rent it on line and it's like $28 to rent heck no! I have seen the scene a couple times though, and I do remember seeing that lady before and she is iconic!
I remember seeing a lot of people online saying that Ryan Gosling is either too old to play Ken. really? He is like the perfect specimen. I really can't think of any other man that would be perfect to play him. That man is so stunning and beautiful. like I said, I haven't seen the film but I can't wait to and I'm sure he was perfect!

When I watched the movie, it reminded me that because we were poor when i was a child, i was never allowed to have barbies unless a wealthy family friend was getting rid of their worn out ones. I remember i was always jealous of the family friends barbie toy collection, she had hundreds of them all stacked up on beautiful shelves. She had all the biggest bestest dresses too. My ones were always messed up and worn out. So basically i had a collection of weird homeless barbies and some sindy dolls. Thanks for reminding me that growing up poor, meant i never had what everyone else did.

Please dont give your money to these criminals who give nothing useful to humanity and simply make millions by singing, dancing and openly committing adultery on camera. Give your money and time to ppl who are the back bone of economy, those poor farmers who work hard producing food for us, poor women and children carrying huge stones on their head to take out minerals for us from mines. They get nothing while these garbages of hell get all because of us enjoying them on tv.

After the incident in Venice beach what follows all humorously is the arrest of Barbie And Ken, showing them in the precinct holding these cards with their names on them. Notice that on Ken's stands and Ken, not just Ken. It's all about this and or just that makes the difference. It's sth that caught my eye quite recently and made me appreciate the consistency in the details and the meaning that was plotted throughout the film.

I just saw it this morning, and I loved it. Barbie was introduced the year before I was born, so I grew up with her. The movie brought back so many memories, especially Ken as someone you could easily just toss to the side in order to get on with the fun stuff with the other Barbies. There were also parts of the movie that nearly brought me to tears. I didnt expect it to be so deep and moving.

I have been collecting Barbie dolls since 1992, (when I was 12, & have attended 16 National Barbie Doll Conventions, (& the Grant-a-Wish Convention which also gets Mattel support. This video is accurate. Earring Magic Ken was/is lovingly called gay Ken in the Barbie collector community.

The 2001: A Space Odyssey music that was played in the beginning when it was mirroring girls discovering Barbie also played when Ken discovered patriarchy in the real world. I've seen it twice in theaters and definitely will watch it again. It's such a good film.

I was so curious who the woman on the bench was. The moment was so heavy I knew it had to be someone important. I thought it was Ruth Handler herself until I learned she had passed in the early 2000s. A renowned costume designer is a perfect homage in Barbie.

I can't believe the bench scene almost got cut! That was such a beautiful moment. How they managed to get us from laughing about Ken discovering patriarchy to crying over Barbie discovering human emotions in a matter of seconds will never stop amazing me!

I think you might have missed one. Barbie's day that goes wrong (providing a foretaste of a bigger disaster to come) is a reference to Jeanne Dielman, 23 quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles the feminist masterpiece of slow cinema by Chantal Akerman.

The Ken's identity problem also happened in the real-world Gloria's husband, Sasha's father is only called El Esposo de Gloria only defined by his relationship with a more focal woman. actor Ryan Piers Williams, America Fereira's real husband.

Only one word to describe this hot mess that could never follow through with a single topic, Whaaaaat? This movie was like a loaf of bread that started with a good basic recipe, then completely failed to make it to the finish line.

Idk if its a coincidence or not but Barbie's bad day outfit's hair curls remind me of the type i would see on a doll. Like, the curl looks too big for her, as if if was used with curlers made for a being much bigger.

Movie feminist af, one female character likes to yap about how hard it is to be a woman, so are men! men have to go to war and die! so women have it way easier than men for a long time if you ask me, pretentious BS

This is not well edited. When the narrator discusses the kinds of toy vehicles that Barbie has had, the wrong toys are shown or delayed. Please pay & train your editors better. Aren't you professionals?

According to the creation myth yes lady so dust created from nothing, formed a pin head that exploded to create the most intricately planned earth and animals and plants all by accidentnow THAT is the myth

I felt so seen with this movie! So wonderfully done. It's not surprising that these right winger men who are taking issue with it totally missed a key point about Ken's journey to be seen, as well.

The parallel to Space Odyssey still doesnt end there as the Narrator, Dame Helen Mirren, was in the sequel _2010_ as Capt. Kirbuk who commands the Leonov for the USSR.

I kinda knew about the Ken's Stallone coat one. I knew some of the nostalgic Barbie outfits and accessories. I also knew that Midge and growing-up Skipper were actual dolls.

IDK people love realisim in toys.
Like, people who play the sims begged for laundry and vacuum cleaners.
The dog that poops is pretty brilliant as a toy.

I am 80 years old and although I did not pick up many easter eggs, I certainly enjoyed the film. Great music, costumes etc, wonderful ending to a good story.
reply

Wow, I can't believe they were going to cut that scene with the woman on the bench. It was my favorite scene and it actually got some tears out of me!

I was looking forward for this movie soooo much. I love love love Margo, Ryan and Greta. but the movie over all really didn't hit me. I don't know why.
reply

Yes the si se puede. I cried just hearing that reference. I was waiting for bettys poncho to show up. Casting america ferrara was such great choice.

I wonder how could pregnant Barbie promote teen pregnancy and pretending to be a mother while playing with toy babies didnt always made me confused
reply

To be honest this movie visually was enjoyable to LOOK at but the plot I feel as though it could've been waaay better. But that's just MY opinion.
reply

I read somewhere that Ken and Barbie are really siblings which is inspired by Mr. s Ruth's children. Don't know of course if it's true.
reply

Im glad they kept the woman on the bench. It was by far my favourite scene in the movie, just hit me in the heart different: )
reply

I didnt like it the first time I watched it but adored it the second time around! Ken is definitely the best character tho lol
reply

Omg I never knew the pregnant Midge was controversial. I had that exact doll, but eventually lost her magnetic belly lol
