Top 10 Sitcom Theme Songs That Went HARD

Top 10 Sitcom Theme Songs That Went HARD

FBTwitterReddit

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
These sitcoms knew how to start things on a hard note. For this list, well be looking at theme tunes from situation comedies - whether originally created for the show or not - that are super catchy, fun tunes that we would legitimately put on our playlists. Our countdown includes Im a Survivor, Happy Days, Ill Be There For You, and more! If YOU were singing along to these songs as much as we were

I don't disagree with most of these, but. okay, so I know I have a personal bias because I grew up OBSESSED with the dance sequences on The Drew Carey Show, but all of their themes went so hard and choreographed. Cleveland Rocks goes so hard that I even remember all of the news stories about them filming in downtown Cleveland. And that's just ONE of their themes.
Also, justice for 3rd Rock from the Sun's theme, holy cow. Oh, and The Monkees!

This was a great list and I know that there had to be some limitations. But there are definitely some I'm disappointed didn't make it.
1)The Living Single theme song (It's criminal that this didn't make this list at all)
2) Martin theme song
3) Moesha
4) The parkers
5) 227
6) Different Strokes
7) Malcolm in the Middle
8) Half and Half
I hope animated theme songs has a list or gets a list because there's soooooo many there

You forgot:
Making Our Dreams Come True from Laverne and Shirley
Cleveland Rocks from The Drew Carey Show
The Great North from The Great North
Nothings Gonna Stop Me Now from Perfect Strangers
Doin It The Best I Can from Just The Ten of Us
No Place Like Home from 227

I am always down to watch and enjoy a video from watchmojo, msMojo, Or MojoUK but this list lacked a definite amount of. seasoning. There were several themes from diverse television shows Much more than Fresh Prince, The Jeffersons and Family Matters. I would love to see a second list.
reply

A lot of good selections in here, but I feel that the theme from Welcome Back Kotter was missing from the list. This is such a smooth and memorable song that fits so well with the story of returning to your former school with the goal of making a difference.

No theme song goes hard like Good Times. Living Single is really close. Hell, The Love Boat theme goes harder than most of the songs on this list. Check your definition of that phrase, and rename this list Catchiest theme songs.
reply

Umm, where's The Greatest American Hero, Perfect Strangers and Green Acres? Good Times? Really? You need a part 2 cause you left off a bunch. Hawaii 5-0? The Walton's? Maybe you need a separate countdown for instrumental theme songs.
reply

Ill Be There for You should have been in the top 3. Actually, it should have been number 1. Its the most famous sitcom theme song ever. No matter where you are in the world, when that song starts playing everybody sings along.
reply

Full House was ONLY a mention! The milkman, the paperboy, the evening tv, I sung that whole song from start to finish even with the Fuller House theme song! That show is an ICON! This hurts my heart! RIP Bob Saget!
reply

Its generally agreed on that the two most iconic sitcom themes are Cheers and The Jeffersons
So having one of them as #1 and the other as an honorable mention is quite the disservice

reply

I would have replaced Friends with Living Single, and Happy Days with Good Times or Movin' on Up from _The Jeffersons_ Almost every Norman Lear sitcom had an excellent theme song,
reply

Not the song but the Reba show itself I never liked. She used to hit Van repeatedly and hit and punch her ex husband. Not exactly a role model! I thought that behaviour was a no no?
reply

I can't stand Friends or the theme song. I am a millenial. I just don't get the hype surrounding Friends. It's same way with The Office. I have friends who absolutely love Friends.
reply

Pretty objective, though I'd question I'll be there for You at only number 8. Also the fact that Riding home to You didn't get an honourable mention is a bit of a let down
reply

I feel like they forgot the Three's company theme song. Me, being born in the 80s, always thought that was SUPER catchy and even I know every word! Just saying.
reply

ah to go back to a simpler time when i'd come home from school and my mom would be watching Reba or Golden Girls on TV while i ate a snack and didn't do my hw: ')
reply

The theme song for Reba's sitcom will forever be one of my favorite country songs. It has an incredible story behind it and the lyrics flow so cohesively.
reply

Gimmie A Break
My Two Dads
227
Amen
Good Times
Alice
Bosum Buddies
Three's Company
Family Ties
Silver Spoons

reply

Love all of these, along with The Brady Bunch, The LoveBoat, Family Ties, and Mary Tyler Moore (Love IS All Around, no need to waste it)
reply

Would have been nice to see Throb get a mention.
Bonus points for doing it a cappella, before a certain PBS game show made it cool.

reply

Cheers theme reminds me of the good Ole days.
Ppl cared more & customer service still existed
(Still exists but is rare)

reply

Would have liked to see honorable mentions for Boss of Me from Malcolm in the Middle, and the theme from WKRP in Cincinnati
reply

Another kickass Theme song is the Theme song to That 70's show, such a killer theme and you could sing along to it too
reply

Like everything else the theme to Friends got old after awhile. The theme song I loved was the one for the Golden Girls.
reply

California Dreams has a great theme, that never gets old. it's a 90's family classic. but Step By Step is second.
reply

A lot of these songs were not originally made for the tv show. Like Reba's song is actually on one of her albums
reply

I would have put Laverne & Shirley on this list for sure. Always loved that song. perhaps more than Happy Days.
reply

Season 2 Starsky and Hutch, Chico and the man, Gimme a Break, Wings Reba and The Thorns had great theme songs.
reply

Aretha belting out the A Different World theme song didnt make the list! Riga morris, girl! Riga morris!
