I love Classic Hollywood movies. They're the best! Any of these actors/actresses in the classics are incredible. My all time personal favorite is Gone With The Wind. It's hard to beat Leigh and Gable as Scarlett and Rhett. However, I can watch any of them and not get bored or figetty! I also love the classic Christmas movies made at the same time. It's sad you left out the Lennon Sisters. They're super awesome as well. I learned to love these movies, watching them with my Dad. Which funny for my age I still like reruns of Lawrence Welk as well. I'm just odd for my age. I hope these classic actors/actresses and movies aren't forgotten by the youth of America. If your young (under 25, please, I challenge you to watch the old Hollywood Classics.

Here are a few you missed:
Humphrey Bogart/ Katharine Hepburn in The African Queen
Ronald Colman/ Greer Garson in Random Harvest
Greta Garbo/ Robert Taylor in Camille
Greta Garbo/ Melvyn Douglas in Ninotchka
Laurence Olivier/ Vivien Leigh in That Hamilton Woman
James Stewart/ Donna Reed in It's a Wonderful Life
Still, I like this list, a reminder of the days when Hollywood actually understood what makes a love story work.

I actually had seen Casablanca and Notorious before, I thought Ingrid Bergman did great with both Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart at playing a couple. But I honestly feel that Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman from the film Spellbound should've been on the list for the Unforgettable Classic Movie Couples as well. I've seen that film many times and I thought it was amazing the way Gregory Peck and Ingrid Bergman had this chemistry for that film.

Katharine Hepburn should have made the list twice. She and Cary Grant made four films together, three of which should have been credited ON this list: Holiday, Bringing Up Baby, and The Philadelphia Story. Clark Gable appears twice. Hepburn deserves the same. Also, Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman should have been ON the list for Notorious and also Indiscreet.

All these classic Hollywood videos that you guys have been doing has me currently in the middle of watching some and by some I mean 2 so far lol Ive only seen Gone With The Wind (loved it so much) and Casablanca (also loved it) I think I wanna watch Breakfast at Tiffanys next cuz Audrey Hepburn was beautiful
reply

Doris Day and Rock Hudson made 'multiple films';
you might mention Cary Grant and 'multiple films' with Katharine Hepburn, Irene Dunne, Jean Arthur.
Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon WUTHERING HEIGHTS, Joan Fontaine & Louis Jourdan LETTER FROM AN UNKNOWN WOMAN

reply

I definitely agree with your number one. Four other couples that I think deserve at least honorable mention are those in An American in Paris (Gene and Leslie, Brigadoon (Gene and Cyd, An Affair to Remember (Cary and Deborah) and Houseboat Cary and Gina.
reply

I kind of disagree with Gene kelly and doris day's place. In fact they did not get well during filming. Kelly didnt like that day couldn't be in his pace he made her cry multiple times. It was a hell of a movie for the poor doris.
reply

Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant made a wonderful couple in Holiday, the Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby. Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell were great in His Girl Friday. Probably you should extend the list to 20!
reply

How can you leave out John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara? Ugh. Top three at least given multiple films. Also, Robert Mitchum and Jane Russell at least deserve honorable mention. Maybe Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck?
reply

Shut up and deal. Despite The Apartment leaving Baxter and Fran's relationship ambiguous, I like that they left it up to the audience to decide where their relationship goes from there, with a memorable closing line.
reply

I love old classic Hollywood couples. They may not all be realistic but theres always so much passion and emotion in classic Hollywood couples. I love them! They always make me believe in true love!
reply

Humphrey Bogart/Lauren Bacall and Spencer Tracy/Katharine Hepburn are not only my favorite on-screen movie couples, but my favorite real-life Hollywood couples ever. So iconic.
reply

Bogie and Bacall were fantastic! My absolute favourite, however, is Jimmy Stewart with ANY love interest! He and Donna Reed in Its A Wonderful Life are electric!
reply

How can anyone pick just 10? I like your choices and I admit that I would not have been happy if Bergman and Bogart in Casablanca weren't #1. What a fun list
reply

John and Johanna from Guess Who's Coming to Dinner as they became the first interracial couple to be featured in a movie released in a post-segregation world.
reply

Vivien Leigh & Clark Gable are absolutely number 1. You can feel their love, hate, hurt, nerves, power, weakness, rejection in every scene and every moment!
reply

I always thought Melvyn Douglas was very dreamy and handsome. He starred with many famous leading ladies like Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Merle Oberon, etc
reply

Im so happy The Thin Man couple was on here! They were so good and so cute! Also extremely believable with legendary chemistry between the actors!
reply

Many years after Casablanca Bergman was interviewed about Bogart. She said she may kissed him in the film but in life she didnt know the man.
reply

I thought Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn would be on the list with Sylvia Scarlett, Bringing Up Baby, Holiday and The Philadelphia Story.
reply

Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler/ Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable should have made the top 3! You can't buy that kind of chemistry
reply

Yes! Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers! So iconic and awesome together! They have insane chemistry with dances and acting!
reply

I agree with most of the list but I can't believe Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck aren't on the list, they are so iconic
reply

Despite the age gap, you can't deny that Bogart and Becall had some serious chemistry, on and off screen.
reply
