Let it Rock was okay and I admit had no idea it was biblical!
Sorry, I wasnt as taken with Pocketful of Sunshine until I saw The film Easy A and I admit I understand why it was stuck in everyones head! I Swear wasn't the original and I did like Jon Michael Montgomery better! Dynamite was a fun club song to dance to and theres nothing wrong with lighting it up dancing to something more positive!
I loved Bulletproof, it was different and catchy! I think it was catchy with LaRues lyrics almost like listening to The Ting Tings!
Roxette was an also group during their time period though its sad that only two of their songs were hits!
I admit I dont remember Self Control as much as I was probably too young but I do remember hearing it.

About #5, I Swear and the 2015 collaboration. That wasn't the first time Montgomery worked with All 4 One; they performed the song at the 37th Grammy Awards in March 1995. The song was nominated for Song of the Year (but lost out to Springsteen's Streets of Philadelphia) and Montgomery was nominated for Best Male Country Vocal Performance (losing out to Vince Gill) and All 4 One was nominated for, and won, Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group. It was those nominations that prompted the Grammy officials to get both acts to perform the song (IMS, Montgomery started off solo, then All 4 One came out and did a solo verse before joining together to finish out the song.

Just for the record: I have not once, in my entire life since the song came out in the 90s, forgotten about the bop that was Crush. I literally listen to it constantly, still to this day. Lol
Side note: I also could never forget Bulletproof. That song is actually kind of difficult to sing along to in its entirety, too. If you don't believe me then just go ahead and try it.

RIP Marie Fredriksson of Roxette. So many awesome tracks that group has. Also, speaking of Swedish groups, Ace of Base should've been on here. I will never forget early memories of summers with The Sign, Beautiful Life, & Life Is A Flower, among many others. Also, Smash Mouth's When The Morning Comes (RIP Steve Harwell) & Fastball's The Way or You're An Ocean.

Wow! years ago i won tickets to see la-roux live, it was a walkable distance from my house, a small more private venue, the band was bigger than i thought, they played amazingly and their styles were impressive, some sort of 80's new age fashion and hair, it was just perfection. What a great time.

Cyndi Lauper - I Drove All Night, Sheriff - When I'm With You, Des'ree - feel So High, Tasmin Archer - Sleeping Satellite, Terence Trent D'Arby (Sananda Maitreya) - She Kissed Me, Opus lll - Fine Day, Saint Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Martika - Love. Thy Will Be Done.

Self Control is the first song on my workout playlist. That song never fails to get me moving, and it never gets old. Not to mention the fact that Laura Brannigan, had an phenomenal singing voice! Gloria may have been her biggest hit, but I think Self Control is her best!

Its so funny to go back and see Jesse McCartney's Beautiful Soul because literally the only thing I can think of now is Wow Roxas, I can't believe you were a pop singer. (Since McCartney is now known for being the voice actor for Roxas in the Kingdom Hearts franchise)

Abba take chance of me, Madonna live to tell, Kylie Minogue better than devil, Christina Agilera come over, Britney Spears break the ice, Nelly Futrado like bird, Hilary Duff stranger, Aly and Aj rush, Jessica Simpson with you are also good pop songs.

None of these are forgotten by millennials who have spotify playlists with all these songs in them lol. Am I the only one who prefers older music?
Also. Bulletproof is a bop but the best version is the Dave Aude Cherry remix.

Hot Chelle Rae's Tonight, Tonight and I Like it Like That two hoppin', boppin' tunes are still on my playlist! As is Taio Cruz's Break Your Heart featuring Ludacris and Hanson's MMMBop. I'll have to add Dynamite.
reply

Either of the two Roxette songs that reached #2 on the Hot 100 - Dangerous and Fading Like a Flower - have not withstood the test of time, but they bang just as hard as The Look, Listen To Your Heart and Joyride

'feels so good' was on the radio, we were speeding along the coast road as the sun was going down over the sea, transforming it to a blanket of sparkling diamonds, the natural high in that moment has never left me
reply

Laura Branigan had a clear, vibrant, strong voice. She was magnificent.
There is one thing I can't stand! Grown men showing their butts and letting it hang-out like it's cute. I'm talking to you Taio Cruz!

reply

i never forgot about any of these songs!

Hey Ya - Andre 3000
Jennifer Lopez - get right
Ricky Martin - Cup of Life
Celine Dion - One heart
Dandy - Because you lied

Laura Branigan is the #1 singer we forgot was awesome! She should be played on the radio every single day like how they play Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benetar, Debbie Harry and Madonna's classic 80's hits.
reply

I must know my music, cuz except for #7 which Ive never heard before I havent forgotten any of these songs or artists. I do however despise #5 cuz it was so overplayed back in the day.
reply

I would add Invincible by Pat Benatar, often overlooked. It was my favorite running song while training for cross-country in 80s high school. Very powerful song!

As far as the song, I Swear, goes, the only version you need to listen to is John Michael Montgomery's original country version.
