That means ny life is a high school movie waiting to happen cuz I'm an unpopular girl, not even the nerdy girl; I've heard stuff being said about me in the bathroom, I've had breakdowns in the bathroom out of personal reasons (bad news about family, a teacher bullying me, etc, the way people sat at the school cafeteria was ALWAYS the same (even when not in the cafeteria but instead in the benches in front of the playground we had them, the populars/athletes/cool kids disagreeing with your opinion bcuz you're not post of them/making fun of the way you talk, we would ALWAYS have the nerds in the front, cool/popular in the back seating arrangement in the classrooms and in the BUS (which I broke by sitting always in the back to avoid attention, the cool/inspirational teacher (in my case, it was 2 teachers tho, and the classic girls twerking on guys bcuz is the trend, and guys rubbing their crotch on their ass
Don't get me started on the classic ugly uniforms school with ugly as shoes
My high school life, everyone. Thanks for reading it you did! You get hearts!

1. The one jock who is nice and sweet and perfect for the main character. They also usually have divorced parents, or some sort of problem with their home life
2. The popular kids what are cheerleaders and jocks and super mean, the kids in the middle who are pretty smart and okay looking. They are also usually the ones to show the main character around the school, and the Nerd kids who are smart and dress awfully. They get picked on, but usually one of them becomes popular or pretty.
3. The crappy parents who are never around.

I do recall the special ed kids sat at the same table everyday. I usually sat with them because I have special needs. The rest of the kids sat wherever they wanted to. As for the restroom, I just did my business, washed my hands, and got out. I stayed a virgin until after high school. I have been to one party and it was nothing like the movies. It was a small group of friends hanging out in the garage drinking pop. The host's parents were there to chaperone.

The dumb blonde
Sadist Teacher
Cool Teacher
Overachiever

The mysterious outsider is actually the cool non-conformist. They tend to be smarter and more cultured, read poetry, have travelled to Europe more extensively than any other kid and bring on some sort of change in the main character by influencing them with their individuality. He or she doesn't care whether they're approved by the in crowd and they're not cruel towards the nerds and losers.
reply

You forgot, the hot/popular girl ends up with the nerdy guy in the end.
The popular girls always have Valley girl accents and are dumb af and cruel.
The jocks are bullies, dumb and are a-holes.
When the nerdy kid walks into a party and everyone stops and stares like they give a crap.
Highschool setting is always in a town not just another highschool in a city.

reply

That the nerds are always the good guys and the cheerleaders/jocks/popular kids are nasty bullies.
My friend once told me when she was in high school the nicest guy she knew was on the football team. On the other hand the nerds were some of the most stuck up and entitled people shed seen.
Being a mean kid is not exclusive to one social group.

reply

I was the loner Goth girl, been called a freak, loser, loner, pathetic,
The popular girls would say it's not Halloween yet
Or they say your wearing too much make up or black I was glad I got kicked out high school, it was hell, but I got my high school done by E-learning, still Goth lol

reply

Surprisingly, my school doesn't have any cliques. Everyone doesn't get along with everyone per say, but everyone is open to meeting someone new. I think its just because there is like 3, 000 kids at my school, but really there are just a lot of people to meet! And I think its pretty great: 3

When the heroine is being bullied and eats lunch in a bathroom stall when there are literally dozens of places she can eat that are less disgusting. No matter how angsty I ever got, I never wanted to eat food while sitting on a toilet
reply

The ones I notice.
The Makeover for the Nerdy Girl
Who's the New Kid in Town?
The Sports Star and the Cheerleader
Boy Bumps Into His Crush
Make Way For the Princess
The Party
The Cafeteria Seatting Arrangement

reply

I just finished high school(last semester was my last) and none of these things happened at my school. Im also an introvert so like I never went to parties or anything. But we dont have seatings or anything like that lol
reply

In high school, I was bullied a lot, but that was pretty much anything special happening there. It always looked way more awesome in movies, thought that was common in America and hated that I lived in Europe
reply

Senior year = Stress, crying, university applications, more crying, breakups because marks are more important than relationships. Hell we even make fun of people IN relationships for not focusing on marks ffs
reply

One of my friends once said while walking around the find a place to sit for lunch I dont wanna sit there thats where the nerds sit
Everyone thought that was the dumbest shit ever. Lol cause it is

reply

I think the fact that I hated my last years of high school (in Europe we have 6 usually) and have no friends left from there even though it's just 2 years ago makes me so addicted to these.
reply

Here's some: fifteen year olds who talk like a mature sophisticated intellectual adult who act like they know the truth about everything cough Juno cough a
Also an evil principal.

reply

Where are my fellow emo's? this is a travesty can we please get a movie where the emo girl dates the loser/geek guy or other way around dont matter lets just make this ship happen!
reply

Theres also the flip side of the token black guy trope. The sassy black best friend, usually female, whos entire story arc revolves around helping the white main character
reply

I agree with this list. I was the new kid in 11 grade. I talked to different clicks even though I wasn't popular. Movies focus on high school periods
reply

What about when the main character is like whos with me and after everyone is like im in they all turn to the bad boy / girl and theyre like fine
reply

There is the popular person and one of the other cliques used to be friends on middle school but they are sworn enemies in high school for whatever reason.
reply

I've always hated the ending of Grease - getting your guy by making all the accommodations for him while he makes none for you is really not a triumph!
reply

College was so much better than high school, for me.
I mean, high school didn't suck for me, but compared to college, it was a total bore.

reply

Well, not on my planet. My high school was terrible and boring. But I'm not American and all those movie characters apparently are
reply

5: 43. Heads-up, people. Adult content at the time. Ms. Mojo, if you insist on showing such clips, could you at least put a warning?
reply

u know this shitty scene in every high school movie/series where the main character is walking towards the camera in slow mo.
reply

I skipped a lot senior year. I was ready to get out of there. I was never excited for senior year. I just wanted out!
reply

You're all complaining that they don't do homework, but we all know you're gonna think it's boring if happened
reply

At my school, the smart nerds were the most popular people because everybody loved them including the teachers.
