I'm not hating on her mother but this bothers me so much about her mother. Did Marcella have any word regarding Abraham making the decision to pull their youngest daughter out of the eighth grade. In the series AB joked about high school drama and Selena kindly reminds him in a sad tone she didn't go to high school. And why? Because of Abraham. Did Marcella have any words regarding her education and be around kids her own age? Selena never got to enjoy a club, maybe sports or going to prom. She missed on so much.
Also, why didn't Marcella stand up for Selena and Chris's relationship when Abraham was calling him cancer, she KNEW. Why didn't she stop Abraham throwing Chris off the bus? Anything could have happened to him or any of the band members or Selena or her siblings.
If she supported it then she would have been there on Chris and Selena's secret wedding.
Also what gets to me to this day if she still supported their relationship why didn't she support Chris to win his rights back when Abraham made him sign over Selena's name and possession. Is she afraid of her husband? Maybe Suzette and AB should go through what Chris is going through, sign over your sister's name and get sued by your father. Put themselves in Selena's shoes if your father forbids you from seeing your husband Bill and AB first wife Vangie.
Take a page. I think her mother is afraid I've seen it many times, and if she supported her daughter and Chris, is she fought against Abraham to leave Chris alone and give it back to Chris. That's not fair to Selena, and if their dad did that to any of his children's spouses now they see what Chris feels.
I support Chris Perez all the way. Abraham should have never won the lawsuit. Chris will always be Selena's husband and I hope one day he gets to tell his story.

The 1994 white astrodome outfit was really good, The earrings were different, the same ones are available on Etsy so that was a little weird that they didnt get them the same but the beaded boots had the same beads and they found the same bra which was better than the movie version. The movie version was more of a look she wore later, same bra but with different pants and cowboy boots instead but the series did show way more outfits the movie didnt get to show. The movie and series show her life in different ways and theyre both good, they dramatize things in different ways but they cant show everything exactly. It was awesome to see younger performances and they included the tejano music awards, she won so many years in a row so it was awesome that they depicted how that was important in her career.

Well my son and I seem to agree that the guy who played Chris is completely wrong nowhere near the real thing the one who did the best job was that guy that played her husband in the movie Selena if you all would have gotten that guy instead of this other guy who's extremely ugly then the whole thing would have worked for me as far as streaming is concerned but the girl is spot on on her voice she sounds like Selena and would probably do a really good impersonation singing her music I would suggest to do that to keep her memory alive for the fans that she left behind

Selena deserved justice, her family deserved justice, after Yolanda committed one of the most terrible crimes in not only Texas, but most importantly, United States of America! I wasn't a fan of Selena, until the year after the death of Michael Jackson, after I heard her sing on music choice and watched the Selena movie. I felt sad for what had happened to Selena, but I was angry at Yolanda at the same time! Rest in heaven, Selena. Burn in hell, Yolanda!

Some of the casting is horrible in the Netflix Selena but the worst part is the casting for Selena. How tf are you gonna cast someone who cant even dance? One of Selenas best characteristics. Secondly she obviously has a fake ass and plastic surgery work done on her face. I just thought she was the worst choice. She was so stiff I couldnt cringe enough. I like the actress from her other work on shows but this was not a good performance from her.

I keep seeing people commenting how Selena wasnt allowed to date. But according to Chris she did date before him. It was kept out of the public for obvious reasons. As much as Im not a fan of her dad, I think he just didnt want her with Chris. If she had met someone else he mightve been ok if it wasnt another musician. But thats just my two cents.

I loved the series, and you can easily see where Yolanda was slowly grabbing hold of Selena - managing her fan club, the boutiques, AND her personal finances. The only thing I didnt like was the actor who was cast as Chris Perez. He didnt ( in my opinion, ) resemble Chris at all. Jon Seda didnt either, but he captured Chriss essence really well.

Its disgusting what Abraham is doing to Selenas name. Its all about money for him. The Selena movie came out a only a year after she died. So suspect. Selena wanted to break away from her dads control and the band. She wanted to go solo and he hated that. All this to keep Selenas name alive is nothing more than a money grab. Nothing more.

This was info her parents and siblings shared. What gets me is they basically down played her marriage to Chris Perez. If you want to learn about her Chris when he is interviewed he is interesting and gives loving story's. It's always about the music and business with her dad and siblings. She was and still is their money maker.

The fact that Hollywood doesn't have much Latino actors is real. This actress doesn't fit to make Selena's role, but whatever nobody mention's what Maria celeste Arradaz says about Selena's infidelity to Chris, Abraham wanted to sue her but she does have proof it really happened.

I saw both movies Selena never got respect, everyone expected alot from her. Noone respected her view. She was a giving person. Second Chris Perez got the hate from them, he had suffered the loss of Selena. No back up, just hate. I hope he is doing better. Wish him all blessings

They didnt get anything wrong- they made up crap so it can become a tv show. Without the murder attraction this story would not be anything and her real life less than mediocre prior to fame
