The 90s was a special time in many of our lives. We had butterfly clips, chokers, platforms, light up sneakers and pogs. Moreover, it gave us some of the best romance movies as well, such as While You Were Sleeping, The English Patient, Sleepless in Seattle, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Jerry Maguire, Before Sunrise, Pretty Woman, Ghost, Titanic, My Best Friends Wedding, The Bodyguard, and Sense and Sensibility

I was still a romantic in the 90s and there were some great ones!
1) I don't like Tom Cruise, but I LOVE the movie, Jerry Maguire. Renee Zellweger's understated single mom was her breakthrough role and loved the feel good message of the movie.
2)Loved seeing Before Sunrise on here- what a gem. Need to purchase and rewatch the Before trilogy. Honest, raw, and articulate. These movies are pure art.
3) Yes- Ghost - absolutely. Cry like a baby at the end and Patrick Swayze- my heart. No one else does macho and sensitive equally well. Demi Moore cried so beautifully.
Whoopi Goldberg was a hoot, and I was introduced to The Righteous Brothers and Unchained Melody.
4) While You Were Sleeping- a gem as well. Bill Pullman is absolutely adorable and finally got the girl. I fell in love with his character and looked for men like him in real life. And sniff sniff. Sandra Bullock's character got the family she deserved. Definitely one of her best movies.
5) Titanic- well deserved. If I can sit through a 3 and a half hour movie more than once, something was done right. Leo and Kate's chemistry was magic and Kate Winslet was a revelation. Beautiful, talented, and NOT wafer thin skinny. I've been following her career since.
Honorable Mentions for me that are not mentioned: Beauty and the Beast, Never Been Kissed, The Truth about Cats and Dogs, and Shakespeare in Love.

I just Cannot Stand the Sight of Julia Roberts anymore, I find her Disgusting, and I used to be her fan. I Can't Stand her anymore, just find her fake. I never missed her movies in the 80s and 90s.

Always so weird when you see clips of older movies and remember who was in them. Clip from Ghost = me saying Oh, shit, I forgot Fitz was in that movie! Lol
reply

My Best Friends Wedding is great, because of George, but the plot is terrible. She doesnt love Michael, she just doesnt like that he moved on from her.
reply

Notting Hill is not list not even in the honorable mwntion. This is unfair notting hill is a memorable romantic movie with the best duo Hugh and Julia
reply

I dont know why people like Pretty Women? This the most overrated movie- too predictable and slow. No plot twist, no clever dialogue. just pure bland
reply

Oh, man, I miss the 90s. The 40s may have been the golden age of cinema, but the 90s ( early 2000s) was the age of nostalgic cinema.
reply

Pretty Woman was the best because it was so different from the other fairy tales. How come Notting Hill did not get even an honorable mention?
reply

Could not stand Titanic. didn't care for the movie and the song was a complete over kill. Saw the movie 3 years later and once was enough.
reply

Personally I prefer happy endings and Titanic, though nice, should be lower on the list. I vote for While You Were Sleeping for#1.
