Yes, Squidward along with Plankton are very relatable and the most relatable characters on the show. Working in retail/customer service, so spot on. Several relatable moments in these Squidward scenes. The more dark, cynical characters are incredibly relatable including Squidward, Plankton, No Heart, Oscar the Grouch, Marion Moesby, Frieda Claxton, Trina Vega, Jade West, Sam Puckett and several others.

Back when I was a kid I was always rooting for SpongeBob, but as an adult I find a lot of things in common with Squidward. Despite being number one in the Top Ten Characters Who Hate SpongeBob, he still sees the annoying yellow guy as a friend [albeit his own way].

On the SpongeBob character scale, to me, Squidward ranks second behind Sandy. Yes, he can be one of those moody type of characters, but to be fair, its mostly because of his obnoxious neighbors.

The only time Squidward got Spongebob away from him was when he got a restraining order against him. Why can't he do that to everyone who annoyed him like Spongebob, Patrick and Mr Krabs?

As a kid, I found Squidward funny but only really when Spongebob was doing something to annoy him. Now I'm an adult, he's far too relatable.
