This video is terribly inaccurate. I'm from Salem MA. I've worked in local museums and studied the Salem Witch Trials for years. First, the ergot theory has been debated and debunked frequently. That is definitely not a fact, it's a highly contested theory. But more importantly, the death of Giles Corey in no way shocked the town out of its mania. Eight more people were executed just days after his death, including his wife! What put a halt to the executions was that Rev. Increase Mather condemned spectral evidence and then the wife of Gov. William Phips was accused of being a witch. After that, the Governor suspended the Court of Oyer & Terminer and replaced it with a court that would not admit spectral evidence. So really, it was the Governor who ended the trials in May 1693 (he pardoned the final convicts) and it had nothing to do with Giles Corey, who died Sept 19, 1692. And finally six men, not three, were hanged to death in the trials. Rev. George Burroughs, George Jacobs Sr, and Wilmot Redd were also executed. Ms. Mojo needs to do a MUCH better job in relaying Facts.

You said only three men were hanged. Put a little more effort into researching your top facts. Maybe have someone verify your work before you publish.
The fact is that five men were hanged:
on August 19, 1692
George Burroughs, the town's former minister
George Jacobs
John Proctor
John Willard
on September 22, 1692
Samuel Wardwell
And we wonder why Americans are falling so far behind the rest of the world in education.

The whole fungus causing the hallucinations was refuted by scientists. After all if it was in fact caused by fungus some should have died from the fungus poisoning, also if that were the case why were only young children affected by it and not the adults? And last if it caused them to have hallucinations it wouldn't stop and then start again within a few days.

The children were afraid of being called out for lying, vengeful against those they didn't like, and bored. The fungus thing, if it happened (which I think is just a scape goat to make the truth more easy to swallow which. no) was an inspiration for what was to come if anything. Those children only cared about their personal gain.

Doctors claiming witchcraft, judges sentencing them to death! Lawyers raging points and getting paid! All murders and accomplices to murder! Yet they want us to call them your honor! The courts claimed black people were property and half human! Courts allowed rape and murder! Our court system is not honorable

Thank you brunnhilda1023. I agree totally. Just came back from salem and been studying the witch trials and witchcraft for years. I'm glad someone else besides me spoke on the matter. Please do your research more before making these videos. I've seen a few most are interesting but lack propper research.

From what I read Posiened rye could have caused the sickness of the victims that weren't faking. The 19 hanged and 1 pressed for 2 days and no burning at the steak was correct. I do agree with brunhilda 1023 with other inaccuracies. Just wondering did you read a book at all for this video?

If you look up the names of the witches that were accused you will find that they're all related to people in prominent positions of power today. Clinton's, Astor, Brown and so on. They were real Satan lovers and so are they're relatives. 13 families.

What if all of the actual witches in Salem were just the men in the courts and they manipulated people to go against women so the men caused those people illusions and run the world with their witchcraft?

The theory of fungus being the cause for all of it is proven speculative and a leap to apply it to the whole cause. Claiming it is a fact that it was fungus that caused the trials is wrong.

this is a terrible video, a lot of things are not accurate at all. I am doing the Salem Witch Trails as a NHD project and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

I definitely know there were some men that were accused of being witches and that they didn't really burn them as their way of execution that was mostly being hung.

The most shocking thing is that some people actually still believe in things like witchcraft and the devil. Scary to think these people have political power.

The first fact is wrong. The fungi mentioned is only a possible theory and it has flaws like several other theories.

Fungus poisoning is just a theory. One of the girls later confessed to lying, which debunks this particular theory.
