Monica sux, her bracelets are annoying to use, and theres no benefit from pimping out both Max and Monica, just Max. I had the Supernova completely maxed out by chapter 8. 500attack, and 250 for all elementals, I believe it was, and all positive coin attributes on it like lifesteal and wealth.
I recommend beating the game this way, on a second playthrough or something. Youre completely rich most of the game from selling Monicas stuff and Maxs wrenches/hammers. GUN OP. Do it.\r\n

Anyone that-s never played this on PS2 that-s skeptical about getting it on PS4, DO IT. I-m 11 hours in and it-s been absolutely WELL worth the $15. I honestly don-t know how this game was made in 2003. Most games we have nowadays don-t even come close to the charm or addiction factor of this game. There-s something about it that just keeps me playing. The story, the gameplay, the weapon upgrade system, the environment. It-s all I-ve played for the past 3 days. So to sum it up, coming from an unbiased and non nostalgic opinion, this game is definitely a must play.

Playing all these old school games from my childhood; DC1&2, rouge galaxy (not just level 5 games lol, .hack sign, etc. It shocks me how much game content we got on all projects back in the day for just the standard retail price. Nowadays we have to spend the 60/70$ and then purchase 3 20$ dlc-s to get even 1/2 the amount of content. Such a shame the way the gaming industry has gone: (

One of my absolute favourite games of all time. We never got Dark Cloud 1 in Europe so this game is called Dark Chronicle over here. I still have the disc in the box, not a scratch on it. Easily 100+ hours of gaming, probably twice that if you go for 100%. There's so so so much to do in this game but it never feels overwhelming either. Definitely one to buy on PS4

Clumsy. CLUMSY!
Darkcloud 1 wasnt bad about managing characters since it didnt effect much in your inventory because it organized weapons by character in its own menu unlike 2. Plus you really (if you're like me) just played as Toan and Xiao and just farmed everyone elses weapons lol Love both games to death though. Prob buy this now thx guys >; 3

As someone who loves this game, I feel like I can say this: Griffin said the only bad part is some artifacting, but he did not mention the sometimes-terrible voice acting. Take a look at king mardan and Dr Jamming, think what they sound like, and then listen to them in a cut-scene. Hehe (otherwise, this game was my childhood)

Absolute favorite ps2 game. Even now, which is 19 years later, I still go back and replay it every now and again. The dialogue is terrible, there's a lot of errors in the captions, and even a swapped dialogue scene that made it into the final product. Despite all that its still one of my absolute favorites.

this is the first game i bought like 10 years ago when i first have ps 2 and when i was a kid i got stuck so easily - but as years gone by i know how to play it and let me tell you this is the best game in ps 2 there is. never got over this. so many things to do and love every second of it.

I played it the first time with my dad when I was like 6 or 7; now I'm 22 (going on 23) and I could convince my boyfriend to play this game (which is interesting since he isn't into ps games so much, but by now he seems to like it)

I had this game in japanese version but I don-t understand japanese lol. I was stuck at the train station town and couldn-t finish the game(not even at 20% I think. I wasted a lot of time taking pictures and trying to invent random things.

Maybe I like the setting and architecture in other games like Gurumin, Recettear, Chantelise and Fortune Summoners because they remind me of the town of Palm Brinks in Dark Chronicle. I also see that style in the anime Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka.

I prefer the first (I completed the first on 9 files with over 100 hours on each) I kinda hate this one because I did complete once but I felt more with the first. The only thing I like on this is the robot Steve, a take on the slingshot.

The crafting is very awesome and from what I remember has no cap at the end of the game in that you can keep breaking down and upgrading parts with no stat cap to the point that you can one-shot everything. And I like that

Sony needs to stop being a prick and let level 5 studios make a dark cloud 3. Id pay anything to play an old style game like this but wit modern grafics. Look at ff7, it was a success on ps4,

I wasn't too fond of the first Dark Cloud. The ideas was GREAT, but the gameplay was damn near impossible. Got stuck on the first boss.
