If you see the set up for this bird section, it's actually a pretty interesting little caveat. Moments before, a soldier is put into a deafening haze as a sidearm is fired right next to his ear and he stares at the bird as the chaos of war swirls around him.
Once the player takes control of the bird, you are flying over a war-torn countryside billowing smoke and the stench of death while you peacefully fly to your destination. I'm sure this bird mission will be remembered jokingly, but in context it's a lot more poignant than it may seem at face value.

So, while Polygons attempt at humour doesn't quite hit the mark, we should applaud Vox Media for being willing to ruffle some feathers, Polygons joke may be an ugly duckling but with our love, support and frequent letters sent to journalists home addresses, Polygons next joke could be a beautiful beautiful LOL.

-limited equipment- I know it should be more fun (no battlefield is meant to SIMULATE ww1, think of all the things that goes on that bird. I didn't even know birds can carry a rifle.
