Not to be weird, but this was published November 30th of 2016. This was several episodes into the series, in which Griffin couldn't use healing items during battle. At this point, which I think we can be safe to assume was recorded before the publishing date, he cycled back through to the start of the game, inadvertently demonstrating it was a loop.
On October 20th of 2016, the first episode in the Suffering Game dropped, an arch in the Dungeons and Dragons podcast that Griffin DMs which had the same fundamental rules - limited to no access to healing spells/potions/whatever, and a repetitive cycle through combats within a pair of liches' dungeon.
I'm just curious +Polygon if Griffin can talk to whether this series influenced that arch in the Adventure Zone or vice versa or if there was just some creative flow going on here at all, or maybe I'm just imagining things IDK.

Being a fan of The Adventure Zone I was so sure you were going to name that druddigon Clint when you said you were naming him after your dad, so when you just literally named him -My Dad- I laughed so suddenly that I choked on my macaroni.
