Though we still don-t have a great explanation as to why, the first ever Polygon podcast has returned on a monthly basis. Join The Besties (Russ Frushtick, Griffin McElroy, Justin McElroy and Chris Plante) as they nonsensically attempt to pick the -best- game released in March 2017

ME: Andromeda has some flaws (PC version seemed to have less technical issues, so I didn't have to deal with those I guess, but I think it still does a solid job with small stories. Unfortunately they don't really get started until after the opening few hours, and that's a hard sell to a lot of people. It definitely won me over by the end- I'm looking forward to more.
As for being the big hero. I dunno, seems like Ryder's dad was the big -hero of legend- and you spend a sizable chunk of the game getting out of that shadow, which made for a fairly interesting character arc. Ryder is a much more interesting character than Shepard was, as much as I love the original Mass Effect games.

I have two big complaints with BotW, which I still loved. I genuinely dislike weapon durability, weapons are impermanent and break very quickly but the game continually, via shrine chests, acts like a good weapon is a good reward. Armor is basically the only way the game can give you a good reward, which it does too rarely. Additionally, to get the true ending is too tedious without a guide, and the true ending is way too similar to the real one (and unrelated to what you do to get it.

I got a platinum trophy in mass effect. It's not the best game this month by any means, but I don't regret spending the last 2 weeks playing it. HOWEVER, and I can't stress this enough, DO NOT play as Scott. His voice actor is, to put it generously, utter dogshit. I made a custom female character, and I never cringed like I do watching pretty much any video of the male character's dialog

It is very disappointing to hear about Mass Effect. Still, I'm not sure some hackneyed writing will prevent me from at least giving the game a try. The dialogue in the original trilogy wasn't exactly perfect, especially Commander Shepard's. Jennifer Hale's delivery definitely helped, but it was still rather trite sometimes.

I really want them to talk more about Nier Automata, but that's not going to happen the way I want it too. I want Griffon or Chris to talk about it after sinking time into it and Griffon simply doesnt have time for it and I don't think Chris is all that into that kind of gameplay so I dunno, whatevs.

I love Besties, but can you guys please repeat the name of the less-known games after you recommend them? You sell me on how great a game is, and then I have to rewind back to the beginning of the recommendation to find out what it's called. Thanks!

I love these guys but it's very disappointing to here them talk about ME: A. It doesn't sound like they played it that much and I know they don't have a ton of time, but some of their criticisms could be applied to some of their favorite games.

I still can't put Zelda down, it's really just unbelievably good even after a month of solid playtime. That said, I'd also be happy if they went back and forth between this kind of crazy open world and the older, more focused titles.

I'm so glad I just happened to be in the middle of moving apartments and also still not finished with HZ: D when Mass Effect came out, that would have otherwise been a day-one buy on the franchise alone and I feel like I dodged a bullet.

I can get saying ME: A has bad writing, but I really cannot understand how you can all ME: A bad while at the same time claiming SWTOR has GOOD writing. That baffles me.

Would listen to you gentlemen talk about Mass Effect for the full hour. It's like I can't get enough catharsis. Still can't believe I won't be buying a Mass Effect game.

As a heads up dudes, you don't have to hack the Rift to play Vive games. They just work.
You have to use a hack to get the Vive to play some Rift games, though.

Majora's Mask is the only 3D Zelda that isn't generally shitty in hindsight (excluding Breath of the Wild, which I haven't played yet)

Does Snipperslips have user-created levels? Haven't played it, but sounds like something that would add to the experience.
