The Boys' time in paradise screeches to a halt as they encounter their most resilient opponent yet. Watch more CAR BOYS: Follow Nick on -Can we kill the Blob? -
As Griffin said those words, the illusion was broken. I finally understood what Car Boys is about: Bored gods.
Car boys is a story of two gods bored by omnipotence, seeking out increasingly strange and destructive sources of entertainment. For many months, Busto the demigod was their captive plaything, enduring unimaginable pains and terrors until his overlords granted him eternal respite.
Then their attention turned to Busto the Greater, a lesser god than them but a more entertaining quarry than the late Busto ever was. His endless protests, though granting him mere moments of peace, ultimately fell on uncaring ears, until he too began to bore them. His betters one last time established their dominance and locked him away for all eternity, guarded by their own creation.
Finally, their sights fell on the Blob, a God of equal power. Though It may have initially humored the gods, it did not take them long to realize that their hubris had gotten the better of them. They had, as one was fond of saying, flown too close to the sun.
The Blob was elder to the gods and saw that their stalemate of power would eventually be broken, ending with Its defeat. If it were allowed to come to this, the gods would be forevermore free to wreak havoc across the realm-- but It would not allow that. The Blob unleashed its power on the gods. It wove a trap, and the gods did not hesitate to fall in.
Together, they are trapped between worlds. The Blob will never again see light. The gods will endlessly fall, but what concerns them is their more ultimate fate:
They will forever be bored.\r\n

I love the Blob arc. It isn't like the other villains, like Busto 2. 0's rage at being controlled, or Busto 1. 0's revenge. The blob is just. pure, distilled, evil. And it's passive, not doing anything until it's acted upon by the soft boys. It's so unique.

It took me a very long time to realize that the music you played was from Evangelion. When Nick mentioned -Dr. Robotnik- and the strings came in I assumed for probably a good half-minute this was a string arrangement of the Sonic 2 boss music

I just marathoned the entirety of Car Boys this weekend while sick.
I have truly been missing a lot haven't I?
also the Blob is Busto 1. 0 after he ascended into the Sun-chips place. He came back to protect these soft boys.

This series has made me realize that what I really want is a sandbox video game with an artificial intelligence devoted exclusively to pairing my experience with the most appropriate music possible.

I start to wonder if this is how being a god might be, you start amazed at new possibilities and then become scared of the simplest things and so choose to destroy through other manifestations.
reply

Note how the blob is completely playful and never once destroys itself until Griffin says -can we kill it- and nick says -this can be our ultimate enemy-. The blob only acts in self defense.

Knowing now what we have learned about the Blob's true nature, I am truly horrified at the callousness with which they treat it in this episode. How can you just touch it like that?
reply

My lord?
have you returned?
I have become ever so maddened by this black, non-place. But I hear them above me.
the ones that banished you.

-It's my worst nightmare and most powerful fantasy, get us out of here, or don't- is honestly the most relatable thing I'll EVER hear Griffin McElroy say.
reply

-did you have bags of milk at your school-
-No I didn't grow up in Canada-
? Man I'm a full blooded American and I love school bagged milk what

I mean I'm not upset about it, but why does every car boys episode feel like the epic conclusion to the show, only to go on and top it next episode

Rewatching these for the first time and the moment they innocently spawn the Blob for the first time gave me chills. They know not what they do.

I-m coming to this video in 2022 in the hopes another Car Boys nerd just watched Jordan Peele-s Nope and went back to this video like me.

There has been some weird shit in this series, but the blob is the first thing that's truly creeped me out. It just should not be.

The blob looks straight up like the Ramiel from Evangelion at 7: 29 (bless you for using the Ramiel music from 2. 22 Nick)
reply

Griffin: -This is maybe the msot wonderful object I have ever seen. -
All of us: -Get ready to eat those words-

GRIFFIN! Heavyweights was my childhood film and that movie is excellent! Ben Stiller is a vision in spandex

There couldn't have been a better time to make a big time rush joke when Griffin said -Big time slow-
