Nick and Griffin Reach The End - CAR BOYS, Episode 38

The final episode of Car Boys. Watch more CAR BOYS: Follow Nick on I know its late for new theories, but heres mine:
So, we have two seemingly contradictory endings, but I reconcile them by positing that Nick and Griffin each split off to become four different entities in total, each influenced in a different way by the Sacred Place and its blob-corruption. The lone Nick, having always been the driver of the Car Boys, becomes Busto 1. 0, and having always been wary of the Blob, only absorbs a fraction of its corrupting essence. The lone Griffin, having previously shown a subconscious attraction to the blob, absorbs more of its essence and becomes Busto 2. 0. The paired Nick and Griffin, as is alluded to in the very end, become the BeamNG itself, the supporting structure of the games entire universe. Ball, after an eternity rotting outside of time, eventually grows resentful, and its malice turns it into The Blob. At some point, the Ovo and the Blob likely clash inside of the Sacred Place, impacting the fabric of space and time itself and placing each of the characters where they were in the beginning of the whole story. Whether this loop cycles eternally or is ever somehow broken is unknown, as is whether the rest of the Car Boys universe exists outside of this loop. Additionally, the ultimate fate of the Bustos is unknown, although it was confirmed that the animation where Busto 2. 0 captured 1. 0 after his disappearance from the VR City is canon. They may have finally reconvened and are living free from the torture placed upon them by their former selves.\r\n

Finished re-watching the series for the first time since it ended, now after the nastiness with Nick. Car Boys still means so much to me, and though it took a few years for the emotions to be a bit less fresh, I still found it just as powerful a story as I did back in 2017. I still feel like some people overreacted about what Nick did. It was massively unprofessional, and a disappointment to the people who admired him, but in the grand scheme of things, soliciting nudes is far from the worst thing an internet celebrity has ever done. It didn't make him evil, it just made him a creep. It still sucked for everyone involved in the whole mess though. To be honest, I thought him trying to sneak back into web fame in the last year or so without addressing the very real reasons people have to be uncomfortable with him was more undeniably scummy

I have a theory about the blob and the boys; I don't believe the blob was truly antagonistic or evil like busto 2. 0, it only ever seemed to destroy things when Nick and Griffin accosted it, and when left alone would sit and do nothing. I think the real danger of the blob's limitless power was not that it would seek out the destruction of the universe, but that as Nick and Griffin are endlessly curious and functionally immortal, they would eventually mess with the blob enough to destroy everything. That's why Nick and Griffin had to enter the wormhole with the blob, so ensure that all of the dangers threatening the universe would be sealed away, including themselves.

They took one another-s hands, and in that nebulous moment outside of time each recounted their lives. They smiled and wept in welling fear of the kaleidoscopic, apocalyptic flash unraveling before them. Each tightened their grip upon the other-s hand as all memories of sorrow and joy escaped them. Trembling, they began to dissolve back into the life-force; the origin of all things. Such was a place beyond existence and non-existence; beyond all polarity; beyond everything. They were okay; this was no nightmarish disintegration, instead it was a quiet return of two souls to the place whence they came. In their final instant, Griffin and Nick were infinite.

Man I'm gonna have to rewatch this series again. It made me feel so nostalgic. So much has changed since I first watched this. My friend that introduce me to this is no longer my friend and lost contact off. I gonna graduate school compared when the first time I watched I was just starting 4 years ago. I'm somewhat happier compared to then and I know myself a little better.
. Man a lot has change and I think I'm gonna take need a long nap after this. :)

-I'm glad man, if there's only one cassette we have to listen to for all of eternity, I'm glad it's Candle in the Wind.
So. hey, that's gonna get up there, isn't it? Ah, hey you've got the break on it looks like. -
-Yeah, there we go. Sorry-
-Thanks. So, uhm, I'm probably just going to go to sleep for like, a thousand years, are you good with that? -
-Alright, you can lean the seat back if you want too. -
-Okay. -

Emoji Car represents the ignorant masses: Just sitting there, kinda battered by life, but not completely broken either. Totally oblivious of the metaphysical battles and the huge sacrifice taking place from the very beginning of time and until the end of cosmos itself; just so the very Universe it takes part in can even exist, so day after day can pass by without the very fabric of reality collapsing on itself.

In 1890, Claude Debussy awakens from a surreal dream, a haunting melody still echoing in his ears.
He picks up a pen and hastily jots it down, even as it fades from his mind.
That word. what was that word? Beam-something? He shakes his head and scribbles -Bergamasque. -
He looks out his window at the French countryside, humming to himself, as two shooting stars race through the dark sky.

God damn that was a trip and a half. I think there is one thing that everyone missed though, the OVO is free. Somewhere in the world, probably above the lake, the OVO is floating. It was reset due to major structural and metaphysical damage to it-s quantum drive. I can only imagine what is going to happen to it. The strongest vehicle ever made-

Knowing the ending, seeing the boys slowly discover their fates. did nick know about what they would have to do when he brought them here a few episodes ago. Do you think he was stalling griffin distracting him with ball and ovo and happier memories together, knowing all along where this road led?

I love coming back and watching bits and pieces of car boys without going through it all in order and hearing Griffin say something like -wait, Nick! This is the light beneath the ocean, that we saw in the tesseract! They made a bridge for us! - and have no recollection of what hes on about

Just finished rewatching this series after so long. I don't know what that (k-pop) song is that plays in the credits is, but that hard cut from the previous scene into the credits with that song playing really made me cry my eyes out.

Just finished the series in 2 days while in quarantine. I remember why I love this so much. The internet is such an amazing place that things like this can be made. This and 17776 are like my favorite things in the internet.

Truthfully the only piece of media that makes me cry every time I watch it. My girlfriend noticed me tearing up and I realized I literally didn't have the vocabulary to describe this beautiful work of art

I just did my first re-watch of this series almost 5 years since I first experienced it, and it still impacted me just the same. Almost speechless. Definitely crying. Glad I went on this road trip.

You ruined everything Nick. You were too horny & now you-re doomed to make dumbass videos about -the mystery of Luigi-s mustache- or whatever instead of true transcendental art. You blew it Nick.
reply

having got through this whole series i can say that A) these are funny people thank god and B) do not let Nick drive. cars or the camera angle. Nick, stop driving. get a driver.
reply

what an epic for the ages. this is one of the few shows i can think of that was perfect from beginning to end.
I still think the boys were the bad guys though

Three years later, I still remember watching this live
Car boys, despite one of you being a despicable garbage fire, you will always be my favorite anime

It-s incredible how a let-s play series of BeamNG. drive ended with an actual credits sequence and legitimately made me tear up. How is this possible
reply

This is the best series ever and I miss it. This was the reason I was obsesed with beam and now I finally have a pc and I'm reliving all of my memories

theres no way anyone could have predicted how this series would have evolved and I'm so glad this is how it ended. cinematic masterpiece, boys.

Love the little moment where Nick takes them into the seat of the Ovo and they both just shut up for a minute to soak in the experience.

Oh my god I-
I think I'm a changed person now.
This has emotionally affected me somehow.
And I'm all the better for it.

At least this series was completed before. well. Let-s hope nick is still trapped in the vortex even though griffin freed himself.

Thank Christ they listed the music, it was really bugging me that I couldn't place Arsenal's Guts. Has been too many years to do that.

Car Boys 1: the boys drive a funny car
Car Boys 38: the boys strike the Heart of Lorkhan with Kagrenac's Tool's, zero-summing

Did anyone else see the sun flying around in the grey empty space in the mirror? The blob truly did warn them back in gridmap
reply

I heard Clair de Lune over the radio at work and got emotional, so I came back for a rewatch. Still as fantastic as ever.

No matter how many times I come back to this series this finale will always be a truly transcendental experience
