Check out the reveal of three remastered levels from Crash Bandicoot: Warped While the game looks fine, it still bothers me for some reason. It looks like they nerfed the double jump a little bit, seeing as whenever you use it it looks like hes hitting am invisible ceiling. Also, Im glad they showed off the fruit bazooka, but it seems a little overpowered, and maybe they could change that a little. To add to that, it seems that they shrunk enemies in size. The Giants are significantly smaller than the originals, and so are the robots that shoot missiles. It makes it look like it was made in Unity. Overall, it just doesnt have the same feel as the original games. I actually quite liked the clunky feel of the originals, and it doesnt look like its present. In order to create an accurate remaster, it has to have a heavy feel. I just hope they fix it, since Warped is the overall best game out of the trilogy. I guess I was looking through rose-tinted glasses until now.\r\n

About Crash Team Racing- I'd love if it were included, but it's completely understandable why it wasn't. They had to make one set of props and animations for Crash (and probably some other characters) that they could reuse in all 3 games, because they all work the same. CTR is a completely different type of game, and it would likely take them almost as long as these 3 games took to recreate all the voice acting, tracks, cars, animations for weapons etc.
I do hope they tackle it after this though, as well as the Spyro trilogy (although I'd be more up for Insomniac getting into the deal for the latter, not that these guys are bad, it's just that I adore Insomniac, their environment and character designing, and their attention to detail.

0: 07 As soon as I heard Crash, Crash, Crash memory took over and I paused the video and finished it myself
Why must you always muck in my mud
Oh look, I have a mask helping me too
We will find out which one is more powerful
Soon enough!
- Warp noise -
- Medieval level music starts -
Now that I've watched the remake's cinematic, Clancy Brown did it better

There are so many effects lacking, besides the neat little changes on certain enemies and remastering the whole thing, effects are missing, double jump is awfully stiff, wrong enemy behavior(Future Hedgehogs don't die when stepping on the close case, you had to belly flop them. This still needs some more polishment.

7: 52 Oh my god when he spun the arrow box, the cringe is real! I can't wait to get this game myself so I can actually play it right, I just can't watch anymore -
Why does it feel like that everyone playing these demos has never played a Crash game before?

reply

I remember playing Crash Bandicoot Warped as a kid. And each time during the motorcycle racing levels, I couldn't but think 'Don't the police have anything better to do then to go forwards and backwards across the highway? '
reply

It's just a jump to the left.
And then a spin to the right!
Put your hands on your hips.
And use your knees to slide!
But it's the bazooka
That realy drives you N. Sane!
LET'S DO THE CRASH WARP AGAIN!

Surely the 3rd game was great, not better than the first 2 though. The including of vehicle levels (jet ski, airplane and motorcycle levels) and the bazooka really ruined the experience for me.
reply

Was I the only one, who thought that, you can only defeat the missile shooting robots with the bazooka? I mean when they turn their back to me, I always thought it was a target for shooting
reply

You better believe the minute Cortex said Crash I said the rest of the line right along with him. I can't wait for this so I can hear dingo say -I have the butter, gonna make toast! -
reply

Yeah, the soundtrack sounds pretty and all that. shame they couldn't get the composition right. Still, a pretty good attempt. All they needed to do was strip some midis, lol.
reply

The double jump seems harder to master.
But whatever, you can fly-spin to China if you want!
Oh, also leave the bazooka in your pocket a minute and be a man!

reply

The beauty of NSane and the original game is that I'm perfectly happy to play both, because they both feel different and have their own strengths and weaknesses.
reply

You can trust Polygon to select a degenerate who dies every jump and uses the bazooka on every enemy to make an excellent game look excruciating to watch.
reply

Man I do not enjoy that run animation. Just seems so gumby (and yes I am aware that seems redundant in describing Crash Bandicoot)
reply

Literally all we need is a Spyro remaster and Crash Bash remaster and we are set! Really really hope crash bash gets a remaster!
reply

too much went wrong with this remake. it would've been better to just re-release the crash series for modern systems
reply

I kinda wish the 'Woah! ' and the mask sound effects weren't changed, they don't really have that same charm to them now.
reply

Please tell me the -Hidden- level is still in the Racing stage! I remember hitting it by accident when I was younger.
reply

Why do all the gameplay videos have someone over using the launcher the whole point is to have the skill to dodge shit
reply

the double jump wave circle thing just needs to go.
hope they add an toggle on/off for it in the options

reply

No wonder game devs keep dumbing down their games. Those -pro- journalists are awful at playing games.
reply

it sounds weird but i dont like that is so identical to the original and just the graphics are much improved
