Okay this is complicated but like.
Probably nobody reads these but hi! I've never seen a video by Simone before and holy shit I'm an instant giant fan.
It's like -oh hey let's talk about video games really intelligently but also in a super plain-spoken and not at all pretentious or obnoxious fashion while also hitting on some of the reasons that games as a medium have the potential to be more personal than anything else. -
Seriously I am SO IMPRESSED with this and I'm about to go on a huge Simone content kick and if anyone who had a hand in this video sees this just like, wow that was amazing.

I haven-t played most of these but I did play WRoRF and was deeply affected by it so I-ll definitely check the others out. Whether I was tearing through difficult bosses in Cuphead and cartographing ) the massive world of BOTW or exploring the slow death of small town America in Night in the Woods and contemplating acceptance in The Last Day of June, this was a good year in games for all gamers.

I'm more of a traditional Game Boi, and I haven't played a lot of the games on her list. But What Remains of Edith Finch is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. This game overtook my #2 spot of all the games I've ever played in my life. I've played it half a dozen times and I'll play it dozens of times more. Edith Finch is an unforgettable experience.

Emily Is Away Too basically forced conflict on you to stay interesting, it wasn-t very fair or realistic. I guess I told one of my friends -yeah when I grow up I might want kids- and told another -eh probably not- because my mood changed, and then they both got furious at me for lying to them because the game needed something to produce drama.

I would definitely quicksave before talking to her, too. I've seen enough Awful Squad to be terrified of her

Wow. I love Simone's take on the GotYs. They are all her favs and all fit together that describe her likes/personality. I appreciate her putting herself out there and think this is some of the best content Polygon has made in a long time.
