Ladies and gentlemen, hang your caps and put away your dusters, for 'tis the long-awaited return of Video Game Theatre. On this seminal episode of the show's highly lauded second season, we take a jaunt through the archives as we examine this scene from 1993's most avant-garde Zelda game, Link: The Faces of Evil. Feast your eyes, as prosaic circumstance is swiftly finessed into a nihilistic carnival of temptation, leaving only a tragedy of distress and the inevitability of a new beginning. Thank you. Kindly

Great to see Video Game Theatre back, but I have to say, I'm not the biggest fan of the new format. The split screen approach makes it difficult to focus on one thing and rather than enhance the bad acting, I just find it distracting
Still, looking forward to more of this wonderful show!

Like some previous comments said, I would also like to see it without the source material. The comparison is nice, but it distracts from the glorious acting! I'd personally rather see the comparison some time after the episode has aired, like how y'all were doing that on your Twitter. :U

Glad the series back! If I can make a criticism: I preferred when you were showing the scene on its own, like before. The side-by-side video with the original game just gets really distracting, and I was missing all the subtleties of your performances.

Okay I know people didn-t like it, but this side by side format was perfect for this particular video. The original content is bizarre and it was a joy seeing them twist their faces and bodies into these strange poses. It was a real joy.

i would have loved to hear an intro from simone to prepare me and provide some artistic context. but the decision to go in without that context was a bold one, and allowed for more interpretations of the scene. a powerful piece, as always!

This is an interestingly cinematic turn for the Video Game Theatre Players. I wonder how _explosions? _ would play with their minimalistic styling. Perhaps we'll see one day when the hire Michael B(ubl)ay to direct a production.

i just want to say i see a lot of comments saying they don't like the side by side format, but i actually really appreciate it as im normally not familiar with the source material and i dont like watching things twice haha

I appreciate having the original video provided but the split screen kinda detracts from the acting. Maybe just put the link to the original in the description?
Glad that this series is back from hiatus, tho.

I ended up zooming in my screen so I could only see the right side, adding the source material on the left is distracting and takes away from the acting as you cannot see their faces (of evil) as clearly.

The Chaos Quartet is too powerful for words
Also, Simone's mirror line and then the cut to show the HUGE log in the fireplace while she sat in silence contained an energy that terrified me

I'm so glad video game theatre is back, but personally I much preferred the old format! I feel like showing the source material at the same time takes something away from your glorious performances.

I don't really like the split screen. I think it's funnier when you have no real context for the acting. Also I miss the intros: p still enjoyed this video though

I think Simone flying in on an invisible magic carpet was my favorite part. Although, the side by side format and missing intro threw me off at first.

I always appreciate this series knowing not to replace the Tetris thing at the end of the credits. Swap the others out, but NEVER TETRIS.

Jenna is the best link I've ever seen + Brian is. Brian is a vision to behold. Somebody put a lampshade on that boy, his talents are too bright.

Brian and Jenna + Video Game Theatre = PERFECTION
Also, Brian's -MY BOY! - face side by side with the king is my new wallpaper

i did not expect polygon to upgrade the tv before soundproofing the den, and the very large fire startled and frightened me
reply

-. sometimes those faces are in the mirror-
-long pause-
me: uncontrollable laughter throughout the credits

I love this series so much, but I do find the side-by-side deal to be pretty distracting! glad it's back tho!
