Phil gives Griffin a whirlwind tour of Capcom's latest and most exciting take on Monster Hunter To all those new players or people interested in this game and never played Monster Hunter before. I dont know about this games story but i do know previous Monster hunter stories. They are not that huge or great. But do not mind that because the story bit that they give you just helps you get to know the game better. Its just the sprinkles on the big fat donut. Once you get past that little story its all about the monsters and loot hoarding. You wont even care for the story anymore as you will be just hunting monsters over and over again for cool looking gear. The meat of this game is not in its story, its in the gameplay and satisfaction of slaying gigantic creatures. I dont know whether the story in this game will be a substantial one but dont let that put you down from playing this game. The story from previous game is just like 2% of the game. Ive finished the story line around 5-10 hours in and that was 500 hours into the game ago. And im not even finish getting all the cool shit I want. But im sure they have something in store for new comers since they know that moving from 3ds to bigger consoles means they will have to do much more then before. Happy Hunting!\r\n

hmmm Monster Hunter on 3ds looks like shit i don't wanna play this. Monster Hunter on PS4 has such nice graphics time to board the hype train: D: D: D Graphics are not everything, you gotta take in the fact that the gameplay is the true thing that bring Monster Hunter fans back for more, grinding for hours for that rare item and new armor set. The better graphics are just the sprinkles on top of the ice cream. Before even buying this game check if the gameplay is stuff you're down for cause the Monster Hunter series isn't for everyone. Anyways, enjoy the game to anyone who gets it: D

It really looks like it will be very similar as MonsterHunter4 ultimate (except graphics and other things thanks too better HW then Nintento 3DS. I like all the quality of life improvements. Day 1 purchase for me if difficulty of the game will be the same like predecessors (MH4u, MH3u) or at least as MHGenerations(MHX/MHXX.
Meanwhile I will be playing Monster Hunter XX on Switch. MHXX is perfect monster hunter game too. I am just sad, that I cannot transfer my save file from MHGen to MHXX. :-(

Well i can immediately notice huge differences with Dauntless, not including the art style. MHW environment and world looks more alive and interactive than Dauntless. I don't think it would be fair for Phoenix to compare them any further, production value is huge in MHW and Dauntless is F2P also. It's too early to judge anything but MHW looks great overall.

Aka PC version coming when they find and pay a team/person to port it to PC or the dev team that only knows how to make console games learns how to port it but the port will be terrible because console games are locked at 30 and PC gamers demand 60fps.

(BTW unless it's changed from past installments wyvern fire isn't a great attack against slept monsters, it only multiplies damage on the hit that wakes them, and since wyvern fire is a multi--hit- attack you're only multiplying that first tick of damage)

Anyone who's being salty now is just sad that this isn't on switch. This game looks amazing and I can't wait to get my hands on this. MHW is a great way to get vets and newcomers into this game series -

oh this looks. weird. i would like to see a new one more visually in line with 3/4/Generations on Switch, so basically MH3U for Wii U, but on Switch. but i guess this is how it's gonna be PC, XBox and PS4
reply

The reason I hate this is because I was spoiled with the 3ds' portability. GOD i wish this was on the switch. If it's on the switch with significant graphical downgrade, I'd be really torn apart.

Was never really a fan of Monster Hunter but the franchise has never looked anything remotely close to being this good before. I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure.

I'm definitely going to be turning off damage numbers. I don't need numbers to tell me when I'm cracking it's skull, because the game will show the skull cracking.

GIVE ME YOUR BRAIN PHIL, we want to play that Monster Hunter! All seriousness though, hyped like Griffin and many others to eventually play this game.

Love this format. I know you guys have gotten a little bit away from the 'overview' style video, but I can't be the only one that misses it!
reply

Nice video and commentary. The game looks great. One of those terrible decisions between PC later or console early.

i feel like in mh4 one of the main things was mounting and it was one of the only/best ways to take down monsters?
reply

i don't give a crap if this stay true to the core series or not. seeing rathalos-san is enough for me to buy
reply

I hope that you make a little series when this comes out! I'd love to see a squad of you guys play it!
