This doesn't really relate to the video I guess, but it still bothers me and I never get to vent about it. My first account got hacked after I'd had it for years. Someone got in and changed my password, and after viewing my lookup using my brother's account, I realized they'd taken off some of my pets' really expensive petpets. I sent a report into the admins of the site, but instead of trying to fix the issue and get me my account back, they decided to freeze my account altogether, and I lost YEARS of items, all my trained pets, everything. A week later, my brother's account was hacked the same way, locking him out. He sent in a report, and the admins froze his account, too. Not long after that, our gran logged into her account to find that ALL of her neopoints (about 25 million) were just gone. She immediately changed her password and settings to keep the hacker out, and sent a report to the admins, hoping to just get her points back since she still had access to the account. Nope. They froze her entire account, too. All of us had to start over from scratch, knowing there would now be things we could never get back. I've had my current account for almost 10 years now, but I still miss a lot of the things I lost.

i mean 'marketing genius' isnt exactly the words i would have chosen for the scientologist that was using subversive advertising on children. He made an exploitative deal with donna and adam, taking a majority share of neopets when they were looking for funding. Theyve stated they simply didnt realize it wasnt normal and in retrospect wish they had found investors that would have allowed them to keep their own idea. Its rumored that the neopets villain dr. sloth may have been modeled after him, but that has not been confirmed.
neopets likely could have been just as successful, if not more so, if the site hadnt been scammed out from under its young and inexperienced creators. Without whom, Neopets would have been used to advertise scientology-related content to children.

It was in fact confirmed that Neopets admins had the ability to unconvert pets. One of the admins had a pet that was unconverted, but was born -after- The Conversion occurred. Once forum users pointed this out, the admins quickly tried to fudge the birth date of that pet, but ended up messing up it's age so much it just became 'unborn' until 2033 or so (aka the time that the server clock would end.
Also, a few bug chasers found the admin suite within the website, which uncovered a tool that allowed admins to easily unconvert neopets. It wasn't hard or impossible to do, they just didn't want to do it.

A positive view in not only a site, but in a world that has such a tenacious look over what or what isn't valuable, not looking at intrisic value but instead trying to predict how they are going to profit from everything they set their eyes on. And the few who hope to really try to get what they love, who don't give a damn about tiers or what's cheaper, more common or expensive, rarer?
We're condemned to try to row the boat together with them, hoping someday things do change for something more coesive for everything.

I remember my account was hacked a few years ago because they never updated security. The other users blamed me for getting my cookies stolen (they wernt) or going to bad sites I wasnt. It was on a hash list, so my fault for not changing the pw for 3 months or whatever, but honestly they should have updated their dogshit security from the year 2000. So although id have started over again or fought it whats the point lol. So if you see my old account bad_kitty169 floating around anywhere give them the middle finger for me because someone def will use it.

basing my thoughts on the team fortress 2 hat economy, even if it's akin to comparing apples to oranges, then the peoples concerns about the market crashing felt a bit too unrepresented. People will leave if more UCs are created and saying that -maybe then people will just trade for what they want- won't change the fact that some people on the neopet's website are only there to trade with UCs then there is a possibility that they will leave.

I think I stumbled upon the battle thing once or twice and saw some pokemon final evolution level stuff in them and I was like -where do i get those? -
And that was about it. The title of the video brought back those memories lol

Ah yes, being there as a community becomes more and more corrupt in players' relentless pursuit of being -rare-. I've witnessed it before on a game some of you may recall. When I first started playing Animal Jam, it was a really fun game, but the community became corrupt due to trading. Watching it happen was a painful decline to say the least.

Neopets needs to bring back Key Quest, I've been playing Neopets for over 13+ years. I just love going around the board game collecting and challenging other players in it. Also earning prizes. The game pieces for Key Quest were so cute also, I collected so many limited editions, Royals, etc. I didn't really like Pet Pet Park too much though.

Great video, but I'm really, really disappointed on how the captions were done on this. It's not a quote being shortened for an article, it's meant to be an exact captioning of what is stated. To cut gaps out with -[. ]- or nothing entirely makes the video inaccessible to everyone HoH/deaf/etc. Sucks to be left out.

I joined when it began, I had such good memories. Until I clicked on a phishing link and my rare pet was stolen: ( (I woke up at 5 am just to be able to get one when the drop happened. Didn't want to play much after that, but kind of miss it haha I still think about it once in a while.

I had no idea about the cartoon and other stuff they're making, any way to submit ideas? I hope they make actual usuki dolls, make plushies of Jeran and Hanna(preferably based of her usuki doll card) and remake and expand the legends of Netopia action figure line

Honestly with Simone's storytelling, I do want her to delve into the tragic tale of Team Fortress 2's bot crisis. The whole community is thriving under such terrible conditions without much help from Valve somehow, and it's a great tale of perseverance.

Every 18 months or So I pop in to see what-s up with my pets and put them in the hotel for a month and feel like a bad neoparent lol it literally consumed so much of my pre-teen years. From ages 11-14 I was a daily neopet user.

Started neo a long time ago. Quit playing when they changed the altador cup as a disabled player they messed with the mechanics of the game making it impossible for someone with nerve damage to play so I quit.
