This Is The #1 Thing You Can Do To Help Shelter Pets Right Now Adopt Me! Such a cute video! I have 4 kitties and wish I could foster and help others, however my other cats (and boyfriend) would not appreciate that (especially since I live in a one bedroom loft. Hopefully, one day I will move into a bigger place, and open a pet-sitting business and home for fosters. Cats do not do well in shelters. I adopted Pierre about 3 years ago, and he was 7 years old and had been in a glass tank at my local Petsmart for AT LEAST 6 weeks. No one wanted him because of his age. But he is the friendliest, most loving, talkative cat, and just wants to sit on my lap and get snuggles and treats. Since Pierre, I have rescued 3 kittens (2 feral) one from another pet store, and Pierre has been the sweetest big brother to all of them. Although I love them all to bits, Pierre has the best personality and greets everyone who visits like they are his friends. When I am finally ready to take on more kitty responsibilities, I plan to take in more seniors.
Thank you for opening your home and showing that cat love and patience. The world needs a million more people like you!

Man my heart hurts so much to think of all the cats stuck in shelters. All they want is someone to open their hearts and love them. I wish I could adopt them all, but this is a world wide effort. I think having a cat would be really good for an elderly person living on their own. If you know of anyone, suggest the idea to them the only thing they might need help with is someone to change the litter tray, but I'm sure they know of someone who can pop in now and then There's so many more homes suitable for homing a cat than what there are at the moment

Watching Dodo and other animal stations can make some think wonderful stories always happen with adopting/fostering pets. I am thankful for those joyous stories. However, very often, it is hard work to recoup disadvataged animals. Sometimes, there are not always feel good stories where things work out fast. I like this story which shows that in reality, we may need to put hard work into rescuing needy animals of all sorts. I think it is worth the effort no matter how it turns out.

fosters are just amazing people. My dog was taken in by a foster mum so she wouldn't have to be in the shelter. I'm so grateful she was given a loving home before I found out about her and she came to live with me. It was really hard for her foster mum to say goodbye and I know my dog loved her too. There's a special place in my heart for the woman who gave my girl a chance after she'd been through so much misery

He reminds me of my cat Bubbie with white fur as well as black and tabby markings. He also had the buff color (nearly orange) on his belly area, similar to Tampa featured in this story. Bubbie died of pneumonia at age 12 several years ago. He was the best cat ever and slept on top of me every night.

I remember when I was 12 years old, I had a cat, and she refused to eat, I did a simple thing, I smeared cat food, on her lips, and that's it!
She devour her food!
She was so beautiful, she had that tiger fur, but in silver with black and yellow eyes! She was very nice to me! I miss her.

the cat is huge already and has plenty of reserve calories. Not eating for 3 days and liver damage is plain silly. A non obese human can survive for 40 days without food and a predator has to eat every 3 Rubbish and puts undue stress on the fosterer.

Ill get flack i know
The number one thing you can do is neuter your pets.
And to the animal medical community. Make it more geographically and financially accessible. I personally know of at least ten dogs and 20 cats that aren't. due to these issues.

I have 4 inside cats and while I want more, I know I can not afford it. I think I might volunteer to do this. But imagine all the bonding you did with a cat trying to get it to eat. I would just end up keeping it. It’s just adoption with extra steps.

First of all, it’s difficult for a cat to eat from a small bow due to the way their tongue works. A small flat dish/saucer works much better. A cardboard box is a great bed but please put a cushion/ blanket in it for warmth & comfort! Just saying.

Rachel, you are a champ! You ate in the bathroom (what GUUUUUTS, warmed his food, and doted over him, so awesome and amazing. He'll find that forever home because you helped him feel better and show his true self.

Ive fostered dog siblings and cat siblings and even a mom cat and her kitten, it was all hard but the end was worth it. Waiting for a call from my local shelterrr (i applied to foster a kitten)

When I watched the whole video, I was rooting for Rachel and Tampa both.
I almost cried when Tampa started to eat.
I am amazed by the patience and love Rachel has for Tampa.

This is so sweet, but I play a game called Adopt Me on roblox where you adopt pets and i watch a lot of videos about it and when I was the title i was confused lol.

This is the best video ever. A total must for all new foster recruits. It’s not about being perfect it’s about being patient and caring. Thank you for foster

I adopted 2 cats with respiratory infections, giving medication was not a fun experience, but if you wrap the cat in a towel it does tend to help

She is Adorable! I want to be this lady's friend. She did so well for a first-timer! Props to you, and your sense of humor is amazing!
reply

Umm why didn’t she just put some food on her finger and put it on his mouth. At least he’d lick it off and get some nourishment
reply

U mean, foster-human. she did not give birth to the cat - animals DO NOT HAVE HUMAN PARENTS. THEY HAVE HUMAN OWNERS GROW UP!
