I don't know if they ever get over that first love. My daughter was the first to care for our precious Chihuahua rescue dog and he misses her way, way too much when she has to be away. as soon as she leaves he sulks and is so sad, and it is a real sadness - not a fake one. I try everything. and he does do a few things with me (especially glad to take a car ride) but never w enthusiasm. And I love him so much. I'd like to get him a companion dog but they are so expensive at the shelter. We can afford the food and even the vet cause it's a sporadic cost and we can use credit cards if we have to. But that upfront fee at the shelter is just so much.

Poe looks like a Tibetan mastiff breed, the irresponsible owners probably got him as a puppy because he was cute but they weren't willing to put in the work to raise a mastiff. Mastiffs take a lot of work and love to raise and train, so if they didn't have the time or motivation to raise, train and love him right, then they shouldn't have got him in the first place. This just proves that before you get any pet you should learn what it takes to grow and live with them.

The dog is huge, robust and ruggedly handsome. Looks like a Newfie or Caucasian Shepherd mix. Obviously he had a family which could not sustain his huge size or just could not afford his maintenance and foolishly opted to abandon him in a desert instead of surrendering him to the shelter. The dog needed someone who would spend considerable time to understand him, talk with him, interact with him and restore his faith in humans.

I think it would have been a better video without the constant, reading of the script. her voice was pleasant in the parts where she was just being natural. I had to turn off the sound halfway through, but bless her for saving this dog. But videos should be way more natural moments, not narration, imo.
