Couple Hears Cat Meowing From Their Engine During Road Trip This literally just happened to me on my way to school an hour ago. I heard meowing and at first I thought my car was making noises. I pulled into a spot and opened my hood and saw a tiny black kitten with beautiful green eyes panting with its little tongue out. Called shelters to see if they could take it in but they didn’t have any room. Had to have my school’s security come. One of the guards ended up keeping it. I hope that little kitty is doing ok with his new dad.

As a automotive technician this happened to me. This lady said a kitten crawled inside her car and is inside the dash. She wanted me to take the complete dash out to retrieve the kitten. So I went to the local grocery store and got a can of sardines. opened up the can, less then 5 minutes that kitten came out and was Scarfing down that miserable smell of sardines. It cost this lady the price of a can of sardines as apposed to remove and reinstall dash unit.

Back in the mid-1970's my family had a cat hiding under the hood of out '71 Ford F-250 Custom pickup. We had racing pigeons at the time, so we couldn't keep him or her.
In more recent times my mother took her car to a mechanic for routine maintenance and the mechanics found a kitten under the hood.
Shortly after this, there was a news report of another old lady on the east coast of Florida who went through the same thing.

A stray cat started visiting us few weeks ago. We kept feeding her and she became very comfortable with us too. In the afternoons our house becomes really silent and most of us are taking a nap. But one day, I opened the front door and the cat was feeding her kitten. Turns out there were 2 kittens in our car engine. We didn’t even start the car till the kittens left on their own since they were really scared of humans.

I got my late cat Pippin this way, he was in the engine area of a car near where I was waiting for the bus to work, luckily as soon as I heard him a lady came down, turns out it was her daughters car and even luckier the car had refused to start, saving the kittens life. I had him for 16 wonderful years, but sadly he's in Cat Heaven now.

this was how my grandfather got his cat. unfortunately he didn’t know she was in there until she screamed in pain, something in the car cut her tail off. she lived a long happy life and was just the sweetest fattest angel

Something that would have been a lot cheaper and less trouble than taking the car to a service station, putting it up on the lift, taking the wheel off, and getting the cat out of the engine from underneath. .. a can of tuna.

I think that the proper time came for the cars' designers and the big cars' companies. If they are really big. they must must design cars' engines to be easily for cats to get out them. or. difficult for cats to enter.

To anyone who encounters this problem on a major Hwytake an exit and pull over into a parking lot. Do NOT stop on the major interstate where you can easily be rear ended by an inattentive driver going 70 mph.

In my engine I found a young bird, he was searching a save place, I'm sure, I was driving 100 miles (ca. 161 kilometers) before I was found him dead. in this time I was driving for my school to rescue my life

Can we all also appreciate these really muscly mechanics jumpingbinyo action like - okay we know where the sweet fluffy boy is, get a towel, we should take the wheel off, CALL THE CAT WHISPERER!

If I were a stranded kitty I'd be praying for Christine to find me. And I'd want her to have the same big hearted husband. You 2 are so good! So happy for their perfect family

Unless you were off including the fire department. Having spent almost 20 years as a first responder/police officer we believe all lives matter. may God smile on you.

we can often see cats in places we do not expect them to be . i saw fire men coming with the ladder wen a cat climbed upon a tree and could not go down

You are lucky he is alive. I have heard horror stories about cats inside the engine compartment of cars that did not live. Bless you for saving him.

Her: seeing him poke his head out but there was no way he was going to fit his little body out of that tiny little hole
Birth: AM I A JOKE TO YOU!

I have a similar story. We name the cat Turbo, she lived to be 19 and was one of our greatest animal friends. She passed two years ago sadly.
reply

Was this real life story suppose to make you cry because it made me cry. Maybe that's because it had a happy ending and the kitten was so cute!

this happened to me. they had to take my suburban. the kitten was injured pretty bad, but ended up surviving and we named him Lucky

One of my cats tried climbing into a car engine. I stopped him before he got in too far.
He's stayed close to me ever since.

reply

If I catch a cat in the hood of my car he gonna wish he never climbed in it cause I'm gonna play Saw as him the main character
reply

I would call for a tow. What if the serpentine belt hurt the cat, or the engine heat. These direct injected engines run hotter.
reply

You’re (the kitty) lucky! My cat got into an engine and found the fan blades - got an ear, no more outside for him!

And the mechanic's plan to drum up business by adding cats into the car was complete.
