This Dog Has A Life-Saving Talent Thats the true beauty of dogs, is how much they care about us and how easy it is to train them to do often complex tasks. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder back in 2012 and I had trouble staying on top of my pills and taking them on time, Im very forgetful. But Jaeger, my pit bull just seemed to know exactly what to do. He got into the habit of leading me to my pill box every morning, hed paw me awake if I fell asleep without taking my night pills and, most important of all, he was super protective. I was on the balcony of my fifth story apartment, literally sitting with my legs over the edge and all of a sudden, I dont just feel a tug of my shirt, my shirt was yanked and my body went with it and I fell backward onto the concrete of my balcony. Had a lump on my head after that but I was alive because of my dog, who was not trained in ANY way mind you, save basic obedience. He just. knew, and continues to know. He always comes running if Im crying, he can sense a panic attack from across the house and comes running. We dont deserve dogs. I wish I had had the forethought to train Jaeger as a service dog. Hes 12 now so a little late to get started. x3 But thats okay, hes still the light of my life with or without a vest.

I don't know why this has popped-up now but my Dad had diabetes, and often fell into a diabetic coma. Our little mongrel - the runt of his litter - knew every single time, at least 30 mins before the effects were obvious to Dad or anyone else. Boris (dog) would jump up onto the sofa and just press himself against Dad. We didn't recognise what Boris was telling us for a while but once we did, it gave Dad so much time to rebalance himself and stop the coma from kicking-in.
I feel quite emotional watching this video - both my Dad and Boris have long passed but this brought such strong memories. I hope you are still doing well.

Heres a common sense rule. Don't ever go up to any animal with an owner and try to pet it. If you ask the owner who has the animal if you can pet it and the ownr says no bc its a service animal, dont do it anyway, bc you can end up with a huge fine and possible jail time, for interfering with the service animals duties. Its a serious crime to do anything to a service animal. If you do pet the animal you might even get bit, which would be your fault bc you were told not to. I believe the punishments are based on each state.
