1-Day-Old Sparrow Makes His Rescuer Fill Her House With Baby Birds Heroes it can be done but it takes an extraordinary effort at first and super sanitary hygiene. wearing rubber gloves will save you from eventually getting chemical burns from washing your hands with soap more than 20 times per day. just be sure you can do it, dont try for a few days then seek help. seek help immediately. also, keep the bird warm if no feathers. needs at least 35c for the first week then drops a little each day after that. join and communicate with bird hand-rearing forums and groups. if possible see an avian vet (most regular vets are useless when it comes to birds. In Australia, you will need to buy Wombaroo - Insectivore mix. Dont feed bread, whole grains or meat. NO WATER. baby sparrows are fed small tiny insects when nestling, so the only water they get is from the insects or the water added to an insectivore mix. of course once they try to fly for the first time you can give an extremely shallow saucer or container of water. only a few mm deep. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH! good luck and good speed.

nice. i just experienced the other end of this. found a bird that was day or a couple of days old that had fallen out of a nest i couldnt find(its somewhere on the house i live in but that is 3 stores high and even climbing up on the root i couldnt find it. magpies had gathered around and also my cat prowls the yard every day. it just wouldnt survive. so i made the dission to take it in. was reading alot of conflicting info on the internet about how to feed it. some said make a juice of cornflower so i did. but later i read that giving em fluids can actually drown em. it went well the first day, it started eating but the second day it had become so weak and i try to feed it more substanse food but it wouldnt open its mouth and basicly slovly just died: (. the only comfort is that i did try my best and it would have died if i didnt do anything. i just wish i would have succeded.

I found a nestling sparrow which I believe it had 1 day of life. I gave him a lot of love but unfortunately after being rejected by the Vet, I couldn’t make it survive for lack of time, or knowledge. I even took it to work inside my backpack while cycling. It broke my heart. having him 1 day and 1 night made my life so happy. At least I could give him a small opportunity instead of being run over by a forklift at work. Just my little story. I’ll remember him forever.

That's not a sparrow LOL I have one of these in my house right now that's now 5 days old I've been raising and it is so difficult ohmygod every 20 minutes to be fed and this one is a drama queen LOL needs Mama right next to her. Yep that's me. Does anyone know or have they heard of a bird that leans off to one side I'm hoping there's no neurological issues or that she got hurt from the fall after falling from her nest wherever that may be

I raised a sparrow baby too. I planned on bringing her to the rescue center the next day but found out my city doesnt even have a rescue center for birds. So I chose to take care of her and that were the best 3 weeks of my vacation. She became so close to me it was absolutely adorable. I released her a few days ago. I hope shes doing fine, I really miss her a lot.

I had a sparrow fall from its nest and I put it back where it fell from and put a leather glove in the hole temporarily to keep it up in there. It found its way back into the nest and stayed. I removed the glove and it seemed ok. I just saw the parents teaching it how to fly this weekend and it made me so happy that I was able to give it another chance with its family.

I found a very small baby sparrow-like 4 weeks ago. She was so small her feathers weren't even grown. I took him and take care of him. Now she is 4 weeks old and she behaves like a pet dog. Whenever I call her name she runs towards me like a dog flipping her wings. She is so cute she always wants to be on my lap and at my feet.

This video is wonderful because I rescued a baby house Spearow about the same age and I call him shrippy. He is a handful and I would like to release him but I'm not sure if he would make it on his own but I'm glad I didn't give up on it. What an adventure and learning experience. God's creature's are wonderful.

I'm actually raising one now as well. I work at Lowes and we found her and we call her Gracie she is a tiny little one. I feed her a powder call exact and she loves it. I also mash boil egg and Dog kibble and add water that has been boil and make a cream and feed her with a plastic syringe. I love her!

My first year in my new house, is blessed by House Sparrow nest in my front door wreath! And there is one little chick still in the nest as of today waiting to departure the nest! I've closed off the front porch so the people don't disrupt the nest, and I am so glad that they all made it!

Please stop showing people releasing birds that they’ve raised. Once a bird has been raised away from a flock they’re unable to be released into the wild. Those birds will not know how to get food on their own and will not know how to stay away from predators. They will very rarely survive

Here because I found a baby bird yesterday literally crawling it’s way too me across the hot pavement, I couldn’t find a nest so I took it home, it’s was quiet and sleeping all day the first day, now that it’s fed and full of energy it’s signing and loudddd lol

I had this to I raised 3 baby birds until they cold fly. They thought I was their mom and loved me so much. One day they were outside in a little aviary we had and my dad sprayed Fly poison by the door in the wind, caught it in the direction of the aviary, and they all died

And I am watching your video to what to do with the small one I found in front of our house. The parent sparrows have a nest near the door ( above. But they are not taking the little one. just confused what to do with her as she is starving.

I am currently doing this myself with a baby sparrow! I have to know- is frank still with you Mine is very attached. I’ve researched that if they imprint then it’s better to keep them. What accommodations did you make for him
reply

I mean, when you raise him from baby to adult you might as well just keep him at that point. no point in trying to make him fend for himself. it's the same as spoiling your kid until he's 30 and then kicking him out on the streets lol

I miss my birdie Jackie, I found her in my balcony all alone when she was about a couple days old and she grew into the beautiful sparrow that she was and then three months later, she finally flew her way back into her natural habitat

I was once working in a customers house inside on the floor around some patio doors, and a baby bird fell. It wriggled a little and I watched it take its dying breaths. It still brings a tear now when I remember it

I am watching this right now in 2024 where there is not a lot to smile about with the state of the world. This video and many others who save birds and other animals are the heart and soul of our humanity.

The bird actually imprinted on you because it had excessive human (affectionate) contact which leaves it dependent on the human and therefore not able to survive on its own in the wild

This is beautiful! Now im going to be on the lookout for birds this spring. It was just stray cats & dogs we were looking for, but now it's anyone. Thank you!

Glad to know I'm not the only crazy person who has turned the house upside down to rescue baby and injured little bird's.

There is a reason you were chosen to take care of these vulnerable and helpless bird babies, you are a kind spirit

The baby sparrow I tried to rescue died yesterday. Poor guy kept had fallen from the nest twice and from quite a height.
