I've seen this dog behavior in other families. I suspect it is instinctive and evolved in dogs that were domesticated in the distant past. When our early ancestors found a dog who was protective of the baby, the ancestors bread the dog. Thus, the behavior was Darwinianly selected.

I am pretty sure, just from watching the video, that the dog and the baby are not blood related. even if someone or everyone tried. I am also pretty sure that the baby was smarter than the dog the first day it opened its eyes.

Tang, my orange tabby, helped teach both of my kids to walk. She would chase them and they would crawl after her and then one day, they were walking after her and then running. RIP, wonderful kitty!

It's a shame that dogs live so few years. That tremendous bond is fortunate to have been filmed as when she gets older, she can virtually visit her best friend that loved her unconditionally.

That hound gives everything to his family. All the dogs that I have known are the same. We are honoured to be members of that dog's family.

The old boy looks at her and he sees the future of the pack, and nothing is more important.

Dogs lick their behind constantly, why would any parent allow a dog to lick their child's face! Why

They sometimes look like two babies playing, while other times they behave like a pair of puppies

OMG this warms my heart. One thing you can be sure of, he will protect her with his life.
