Dog Caught On Hidden Camera Doing The Sweetest Thing For Foster Brother Foster Diaries It took me many years to get to the point I could foster and then let them go to a good home. But, it got easier in time and eventually I was saving 4 or 5 a year and putting them in very good homes. That I owned and operated my own boarding and grooming business helped a lot. Several of the older dogs I took in were with me until they died. Some with serious skin issues and allergies that no one wanted to take on also stayed with me until they died. I sometimes had as many as 12 in my house and often as many as 5 in bed with us at night. But, how do you explain to a tiny 4 pound poodle that hes not supposed to sleep with humans when he has been doing it all of his life The sweet little Shih Tzu mix that came because her owners lost the roof of their house to a tornado was still so frightened I carried her most of the day and then she slept in our bed all night. The foster dogs quickly learned from The Pack (board dogs and my own dogs) and it made them so much easier to train. Their joy when they came back for boarding or grooming was a wonderful reward and their joy when their new owners returned was pure gold because it confirmed that I had done the right thing for everyone. If you have the time and space to foster, please try it.

I have a hard time letting go of old socks let alone an animal. I applaud those who can foster. Years ago my cousin asked me if I would train a pup for themI was Leary I would be able to let the pup go. These people are the kindest and have the means to give a dog everything. I said yes. Well, after Kirby was trained we took a trip half way across the country to his people. We did everything right in that training and then introduction. I wanted him comfortable. My heart was breaking to leave himbut he warmed right up. 11 years later when Kirby was now an old man they asked if I would train another. I did and now Kirby has a brother. Kirby is now 15 and the joy of their lives. I am so glad I did it.

I adopted a border collie 3 and a 1/2 years ago. He'd come from an abusive situation so it was a lot of work to get him in a good place with my other 2 dogs. He literally had to be tied up in the house in order not to fight with my senior dog. On top of that he was diagnosed with epilepsy and has to be on constant medication which is quite expensive. The lady at the pound where I got him suggested I should just foster until we could find him the right home. Still with all the trials and tribulations I had fallen in love with him. He's a little over 4 now and I cannot imagine not having him. He's a wonderful boy and a good boy!

I think fostering is a wonderful thing I really do, but I'd have every Great Dane in the world because I would not be able to give them to someone else. They are truly the best fur baby in the world. We have two and wish we could get another.
But I'm so glad he found his forever home an is so happy.

This high pitch crap really gets the dogs anxiety heightened.
I’m amazed at the amount of dog owners who talk as high pitch as they can to their dog.
It’s putting your dog on edge every single time.
I notice it when my wife sometimes makes a high pitch noise, our labradoodle will get nervous

My husband is diabetic blind in one eye, partially deaf & losing weight.
He demands a lot of attention by arguing with me when I am home.
He’s happy when I pay attention to him and give him lots of hugs & kisses & praise his cooking & helping around the house. Lol.

Maybe it's just me being a jerk, but I see Tofu's new forever humans cruel/selfish to change his name. The dog was an emotionally damaged creature, that had only just begun healing. Why add confusion on top of the stress of changing homes again.
reply

I suppose if a creature is partially blind and deaf it would be more insecure about its surroundings. It must be especially so for foster animals because they never know which new place is their forever home.

This makes me miss our family Great Dane. His name was Barclay, he passed away in 2019 and lived to be 11. Even in his old age, he’d still love to play and ran around the house with a teddy bear in his mouth!

Dog slobber is actually a pain to wash away. Calling it a pre-wash is silly, it's a pre-wash for a necessary washing. Soap doesn't break down the proteins in a dog's saliva compared to crusty bits in their bowl.

It's one of the HARDEST things to do, which is being an animal foster parent. You love and care for them. When a lot of times they are really sick when you start fostering. This lady is an angel
reply

I feel rescued dogs are clinging because they attach quickly and don't want you to then give them away like the last owner did. I couldn't foster either. I'd have to have him forever.
reply

Wild. The only time I was around a dog who had a new dog introduced to the family.
They did nothing but fight. For like a year or more. They never learned to like each other.

Hats off to the special people that take in animals to get them through the difficult temporary times when folks are freaked and just don't know what to do!

He's got some American bully in him too it looks like. Not a ton but I'd bet some. His nose and head give it away. But yea, he's great. Love em.
reply

It's so unfair their life is so short. If a dog's life was proportional to its gentleness and love output, great dane would live longer than human.
reply

I would imagine it is very difficult to allow a dog to be adopted after you've cared for them. I don't think I could ever do that.

It's a good Mom that knows that their job is to prepare the babies to move into their own happy lives with their forever family.

Bless you for doing this work. I suffer from so much anxiety and depression and these videos warm my heart and make me smile

Exactly like my Tiberius, stuck to my wifes butt, and I thought ours was the only one that jumped on the kitchen counter lol
reply

My dog is half his size and can clear the bed of truck and climb anything with holes or slats big enough for paws
reply

The new family may need to upgrade that wooden fence to be another 1-2 feet taller at minimum with his jumping ability.

Love the love you have for animals, please no milk though, doggies should t have more than a table spoon a day at most
