Kitten Gets Caught On Baby Cam Sneaking Into Her Sister's Crib For A Snuggle Soulmates Cats claiming babies is a special bond. When I was born my parents had a cat named George. He was a miserable old tomcat that hated everyone, with an occasional exception for my father. My parents always told me they were afraid they would have to give George away because they thought hed hurt me. Total opposite happened. I had a ready made guard cat at home the second I was carried through the door. For the first two years of my life he apparently never left my side but to go to the litter box. They even started putting his food and water in my room because he wouldnt leave me to eat. At night he slept under my crib and was so on point they my parents wouldnt have even needed a baby monitor because when i woke up and started fussing he ran to their room to make sure they were coming to take care of me. And would even attack their ankles if they werent moving fast enough for him.

It makes a lot of sense that adult cats (especially female ones) are quite tolerant when a human baby gets grabby, because they get a lot of rough contact from kittens in the first few weeks / months, as they don't know yet to be careful with their bites and claws, and have to learn that the hard way with both their mom and their siblings.
That said, a human baby is much bigger than a kitten, and thus capable of exerting much greater force with their hands within a few months of birth, so it's necessary to teach them boundaries from early on before they do something that causes the adult cat to angrily swipe with their claws in self-defense.

My daughter grew up, from birth, with her two ginger tabby brothers.
Her first word - pussycat. None of that silly mama or dada stuff.
She could tell who was important.
When I would breast feed her, so she'd be lying across my lap, with her head resting in the crook of my arm, one of the cats would climb up and stretch out along her. She'd effectively be completely covered in a super soft, furry, warm, purring cat shaped blanket.
All three of them insisted upon sleeping with each other, in my bed. I used to end up just getting out and sleeping on the floor next to the bed.

Lovely story, cats are awesome.
But BE CAREFUL WITH NEWBORNS.
There have been confirmed cases of cats accidentally suffocating baby over my lifetime. The last was in 2000 I think. I was in the UK. I remember the year because I was in the UK that year, my son passed in 1999. I relayed the story to my friend back home. They had recently had a baby and were telling me the cat often slept with the baby.
It would. Have been accidental.
Cats like warm spots.
Just b e careful of your tinies. Losing a child sucks

My mom had our cockatiel since he was seven weeks old (back in the 80s and we are highly against Buying and Breeding birds or any animals now, since there are so many homeless ones that need to be adopted) and he was six years old when I was born. He was always my mom’s bird but when I was born he always wanted to be with me. He stayed my best bud until he passed away at 34 years old Sometimes they just choose.

Reminds me of the cat that came into my parents' life 2 years before I was born and she guarded my mother's stomach when she was pregnant with me and when I was born she also guarded me every step of the way and made it to the ripe age of 15. I was really devastated when she passed away from cancer.

My cat Gator loves my daughter. Whenever we can't find him, we check her room, and he'll be asleep in her bed. When our son was born, Gator used to go underneath his bassinet (it was attached to the playpen) and lay below so he could keep an eye on him. It was so cute

Such a fine feline! An absolutely exquisite specimen! I too have a Luna cat, but unfortunately no baby yet. Hopefully one day my Luna (Lunesta Catingston) will have a baby boy to snuzzle with. and I can take hunting and fishing when he gets older.

Plus: mom teaching baby not to hurt kitty
Minus: mom chasing kitty from cot
Are we really given over to old wives' tales about cats suffocating babies Oh puh-lease.
Final take: The Dodo, I love you, but this one's a bust.

When a cat bonds with a small child they will let the child do almost anything to them but if a person or other animal tries to hurt the child the cat will come running to protect the child. I've had a few cats like that

The cats smell the milk on the babies breath. There was this one cat that jumped in a baby's crib and almost suffocated it bc it covered the baby's nose and mouth trying to lick the milk.

You lost me at the title already. The cat's sister. The baby is the cat's sister It's not coi; it sounds like someone fornicated with a cat.

cats in the wild often raise their young communally. luna probably thinks she's helping you raise your big weird hairless kitten

Typical controlling cat behavior, making sure to get their mind control parasites all over their new hosts.

I think the kitty knows the baby is her parent’s Skin-Kitten, so the kitty is willing to help out.
