Giant Moth Trusts Her Rescuer To Raise Her Babies Heroes I certainly understand many of the comments with regard to the kindness of saving the moth and dealing with the caterpillars. But there is actually a balance of nature which is a reason why, out of all the hatchlings, only one or two survive. We’ve seen that the caterpillars eat incessantly until they form their cocoons. Imagine the destruction to foliage, crops, etc, if every caterpillar survived. It’s the purposeful balance of nature.

She look like the girl from Hey arnold, but that aside the title is missleading she did not entrust nothing you picked her up put her in a tent and since thats her life cycle she had to lay eggs before dying if you let her outside she would have just layed them there. Still amazin story i gues. And yes im not fun at parties

Found a dog under my car hood one day coming home from work. Chased her down, named her Donut. She lives like a Queen now after finding out from a neighbor that she's been on the streets for a while but had neglectful owners. She's now living with family that are loving and spoil her.

Feeding caterpillars must be among the most satisfying things in the world. I once had a moth lay her eggs on my peppermint on the window sill. I truly enjoyed watching the little caterpillars feed on all the salad I brought them as they grew. Hatched plenty of beautiful moths that year.

First of all, who the heck has a fear of moths! On top of that, there is a reason that only a small number of moths survive and it's actually pretty important for the balance of nature, which we're not meant to interfere with. Otherwise, yes of course moths are cute.

Moths can be unbelievably cute =) There are smaller Kinds that literally look like cute lil cartoon moths. Theres a reason ppl draw em like that. Cause they look like that =D

You just made this moth the great great great grandmother of an entire region of moths, since normally a small amount maybe 1 moth would be matured from each batch lol

I chanced on one of this moth species while I was getting set up to power wash a restaurant a couple years ago, and it was the coolest discovery I had had in a long time.

Moths are harmless most have no mouths and others have a straw like mouth to suck nectar. So they can’t bite humans
reply

you want to be careful the larva of some species of moths are venomous despite their adult versions being harmless.

Where I'm from, we call large moths bobowlers for some reason. They are not as large as these, though.
