The whole deal with that tiny, wee Octopus is utterly very cool, he probably kept touching your hand was his way orf making sure that it wasn't anyone else but you yersell. and that dear lady deserves a double thumbs up. I don't know much about octopuses or should it be octopusii. double I know what I mean.

When I lived in Florida I used to SCUBA dive along the intercoastal waterway in Jacksonville. I made friends with a manatee. I called him Mikey. I used to go looking for him and give him belly scratches. That was 25 years ago now.

I don't think we can really comprehend the level of intelligence that some of Earth's creatures have, and octopus like Egbert are incredibly smart even capable of amazing problem solving ability and it's fascinating to see

Octopi are known to use other fish to assist in hunting, so this octopus just thinks of you as his hunting partner. Probably because you gave him food, he decided it was a good arrangement.
