Scared Dog Never Wagged Her Tail Until She Met Her Foster Dad - BLOSSOM I had a similar experience. My rescue dog hid under the table from me the first days. She had been neglected for 7, 5 years, never got any attention or affection from humans and also 2 legs that urgently needed surgery. Shes recovered now and never leaves my side. She falls asleep with her belly pushed into my side, her paws resting on me or shell put her head on my arm. After 4 months she started giving kisses, so every morning when waking up she also washes my face a bit. I have a transport box cause I always take her with me when I visit family. When I grab the box and tell her: you coming with me she starts spinning around, wagging her tail, making noise and starts scratching it until I open it. After 3 months she finally trusted my family and she now loves lying in my moms lap. Rescue dogs are not a fairytale: you need time to do this, patience and be prepared for unexpected bills for potential health issues. But they are so worth it. This dog brings me, my siblings and my parents so much joy, we all love her dearly.

We adopted our now 5yr old mini pin at the age of 2 and she was severely abused and did not trust men at all. I'm her papa and she absolutely trusts my son and I now, but she's definitely partial to my wife and daughter. I'm just glad we were able to provide her a stable loving home. When we adopted her she wouldn't eat or drink that we saw for weeks. It scared me how sickly and skinny she got, even with our other dogs. She would just hide under the couch and shiver all day. She finally broke out of her shell, but I can tell you even a few years later, she has a defense mechanism that they will never let go of.

Bro. The whole time I’m thinking after all this this mfer better not give this dog away it already doesn’t trust-I’ll be dmned. He gave her away and made her go through an airport which I’m sure she just loved. I don’t get it. I understand you can’t keep every dog but it’s not like you don’t have dogs and I think she is a rare case. Some small dogs like that can go their whole life and always just be sketched out by everything and even though she made a big improvement I don’t think making her readjust overnight was a good move. I imagine she felt somewhat abandoned again.

Wow this would be a awesome Disney movie!
We have a Short haired pointer that is just like Miss Blossom here! Since she was born she was always a little scaredy-cat towards humans only it Is weird because she was never abused or treated bad and she was the last puppy left out the litter and nobody wanted her because how skittish she is! Oh she is a hunting dog to! IDK ME AND MY FAMILY JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO APPROACH HER ANYMORE well at least to try to get that fear out of her!

I hope this comes out right. your content is fantastic! Thank you for the work you do. I must confess that most of your posted videos I cannot watch. too heartbreaking. All I can do is provide the best care I can for animals in my charge. As they are a part of me and give joy to my life. I hope I give them the same. Thank you again for the work you all do.

From hiding under a table, trembling and being scared of everything, to doing happy zoomies in the sun. My heart.
Tysm to Rocky for being a good foster. Funny the feeling of wanting to cheer and celebrate and hug her, but you know you gotta keep it calm and respectful in front of her to avoid scaring her out of progress.

We got three shelter cats and they hid under the bed for months. One cat came out after about a week but the other two took three months. Now they are all over the house and all over us.
Great cats, took time and patience and love, but we are happy with them, and they we think, with us.

I cannot even imagine what she has undergone to be this scared and even think that drinking water is a crime and shaking due to extreme fear. Whoever abused her, I hope karma gets you for the worse, bastardo.

She'd probably have adjusted better, sooner, and with more ease if he wasn't using that unmistakable shock collar on her
